Yep, many weeks ago I was declared to be a “FluBro” because I said this 21st century viral pandemic was NOT remotely equivalent to the 2018 Spanish flu pandemic,
“1918 2+ billion people... Flu deaths=Roughly 50 million. 2020 7.7 billion people... Flu deaths=Roughly 74,000+”
The Pandemic is OVER!!!!

If you, or someone you know, can tell the future, please volunteer your skills and talents to the government during the next epidemic. Then the government will know whether to overdo it or just be slack in their approach to the problem.
With no gov’t intervention, methinks most people would have “self-quarantined” on their own, just later. Result would have been faster/wider spread of disease, with 10x-100x more dead before similar unilateral shutdown, with at least the same economic crash (likely worse).
Many of us were just waiting for a tipping point to withdraw, and would have done so anyway in a few weeks as disease & death progressed.
“But it would only be X% fatalities!” you cry.
TS. I don’t care what the fatality rate is if I’m one of them, and spread of fatalities tends to include my kind (50+, heart issue).

You are absolutely correct. The Spanish Flu makes coronavirus look like an amateur. I have read extensively about that pandemic since I graduated from medical training where it was never mentioned even once. It would be absolutely terrifying to live through something like that especially considering that they had almost none of the knowledge or technology we have today.
It may do 4M in India alone.
Then there are the poor bastards in Africa.
Even if they die outside a hospital and WHO statistics. Still carnage to their societies and economies.
It won’t have the carnage of the Spanish Flu in the West because Western governments took preventive measures.
Remember, those deaths are in addition to normal fatalities.
Who do you know that you’d be OK with losing, who would otherwise have survived?
This ‘flu’ has been around since December..... 4 months and 75 thousand deaths... It will be a miracle of biblical proportions to get to 50 million.... With over 7 billion people on earth we would need to lose over 150 million to even compare to the Spanish Flu.
