I would well imagine there is an army of researchers working around the clock to find/develop an anti-viral drug to kill this virus, and a vaccine to program your immune system to recognize it. But, these are very intensive and time-consuming tasks. For instance, we have decoded the human genome and sequenced it. We know what part decides what color eyes you have, and what part determines how many fingers you grow on your right hand. A new virus like this is different. Your dealing with something that is infinitesimally small - maybe 50 to 100 atoms in width. Even then, we can extract the DNA but we have no idea what sequence does what without time consuming trial and error testing.

This is true. I think the number is about a 30 percent survival rate. But, it does buy time. However, it doesn't kill coronavirus. Nothing has been undeniably medically proven to so far. But, there are some things in use now that appear to slow the progression of the virus enough so your immune system can take over. I hope they do. I would definitely try them.
