Trump touts hydroxychloroquine as a cure for Covid-19. Don't believe the hype
The anti-malaria drug could be one of the biggest game-changers, Trump claimed, but there is no magic cure
Faced with a global coronavirus pandemic that is increasingly centered upon the US, Donald Trump has touted several drugs that he claims can help tackle the outbreak.
In March, the US president used a press conference to promote the use of hydroxychloroquine, a common anti-malaria drug, to treat Covid-19, saying: I sure as hell think we ought to give it a try.
Chloroquine: Trump's misleading claims spark hoarding and overdoses Read more He followed this with a tweet that claimed the use of the drug in combination with azithromycin, an antibiotic, could be one of the biggest game-changers in the history of medicine. On Sunday Trump again touted hydroxychloroquine, saying there are some very strong, powerful signs of its potential as a Covid-19 therapy.
Trump has been repeatedly contradicted by public health experts including his own top infectious diseases adviser, Dr Anthony Fauci, who has warned that there is only anecdotal evidence that the drugs could be helpful.
Confronted with this disparity Trump, who has repeatedly made false and misleading assertions throughout the coronavirus crisis, responded by telling reporters that Im a smart guy and Ive been right a lot. The Fox News hosts Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity have been promoting hydroxychloroquine on their shows.

The left WANT this to not be true to make POTUS look bad.
Here’s a solution, if this drug is doesn’t help, then all the leftwing loons who get COVID19 better not take it.
Can you say Zinc Ionophore?
Yes, I knew you could
You know this is gonna be an uphill battle for HCQ.
At 1 time it was speculated here on free Republic that if trump found a cure for cancer would the liberals believe him? I think we have the answer
“Don’t believe the hype”
Yeah, f**k you, Gaurdian. You are all free not to take it.
The Guardian only pushes doom and gloom. Good news doesn’t sell.
This one plus some HIV drug plus some drug Germany is taking out of the woodwork show promise!
“who has repeatedly made false and misleading assertions throughout the coronavirus crisis,”
Eff these c-suckers.
I ever get close to one of these sons a bitches...

Yes we have. It’s utterly disgusting.
Why do the naysayers never propose a superior treatment?

When an article doesn’t allow for comments you know that its propaganda.
The comments would interfere with the “message”.
YES! Double-blind studies coming right up!
The double-blind test on the first parachutes went so well!
Can you imagine if Obama had said POSSIBLE GAME CHANGER and the results have been what they are so far? He’d win a second Nobel Prize...in Medicine.
And Oliver will take them while shaking and hiding in the bathroom, sitting on his toilet.
Misleading title stating “Trump said it’s a cure”
Then quotes Trump:
“The anti-malaria drug could be one of the biggest game-changers, Trump claimed, but there is no magic cure..”
I dont care what the Connies at the Guardian think. if hydroxychloroquine ultimately is successful, they will give the credit to Fredos Brother anyway.
Okay, if the doctors don’t believe the information then ensure that they, and their families, can’t get the drug.
Put up or shut up
I suppose Dr. Fauci is such a grand genius, that he has changed the definition of anecdotal to, “scientific tests that do not meet the requirements of double blind clinical trials”.
several, not just one, test have shown that these 3 items (hq, antibiotic, plus zinc) as a treatment work very well
whether a mild-case should take them, is open to discussion, since most mild cases recover nicely anyway without medication. and because there are some possible side=effects from the hq.
i would leave that decision up to my personal physician.
but in serious cases (like hospital, pneumonia danger, etc)
this trifecta treatment right now is just about the only effective protocol we have.....so why the opposition?
its crazy!
