The UK government reportedly believes the coronavirus outbreak may have started in a Chinese laboratory.
Most experts believe the outbreak began when animals passed COVID-19 onto humans in China.
However, some scientists believe an accidental leak is a plausible alternative theory.
UK officials are not ruling out the possibility that a laboratory close to Wuhan accidentally leaked the virus.
A UK Parliament committee on Monday accused the Chinese government of spreading "disinformation" about the origins of the virus.
"Perhaps it is no coincidence that there is that laboratory in Wuhan," one UK government official told the Mail on Sunday newspaper.

Exactly.
Well, crap. This is a conundrum. Who do we believe? “Most experts”? Or “some scientists”?
The English and Chinese Twitter hashtags reveal much interesting information.
I wonder if thats why some nations response policy seemed to change on a dime perhaps Colin Powell to say pssst ... this ain’t natural and it ain’t the flu. Xi let one of his biowarefare agents get away - let me show this dossier
I think that is exactly what’s happening.
Right now, leaders like Trump are focused on a pandemic, focused on keeping people alive, focused on trying not to do permanent damage to the economy.
I do not know when, but at some point, this dust is going to settle. And then I think there will be a reckoning with China. I don’t see a hot war. But I think China is going to be economically devastated by the repercussions of this.
Thanks for those links.
We need to get at least some word out as the evil Leftist News Media swallows up and extinguishes anti-China facts like a black hole in space.
I do not intend to let my life end without seeing at least some Communist Chinese brought to proper justice within the law.
I turned the other cheek but ran out of cheeks.
The most likely scenario is that they were breeding this virus to grow on human tissue cultures, then they accidentally caught their own bug and spread it to the neighborhood.
Accidentally? What a laugh!
The leak may well have been an accident. We’ve had problems with our own labs, and there has been pressure by researchers all over the world who wanted to engineer viruses just like this not for weapons but for study of zoonotic disease- arguing against those who considered the risk of accidental release too great since at least 2011.
The leak may well have been an accident even if development of it was intentional. We’ve had problems with our own labs, and there has been pressure by researchers all over the world who wanted to engineer viruses just like this not for weapons but for study of zoonotic disease- arguing against those who considered the risk of accidental release of engineered viruses, or the intentional theft of engineered viruses by sticky fingered states or terror groups too great since at least 2011.
[And of course there was the added concern that even innocent development of lines of research viruses with their own unique characteristics for the use of vaccine developers and outbreak modelers could be and likely would be very attractive cover for those countries interested in weapons development. ]
