The two microbiologists defended the use of the term “Wuhan virus,” stating that the Communist Party’s effort to distance China from the virus is an attempt to evade responsibility.

There, fixed it.

I prefer “Xi Jinping Chinese Communist Party Virus and Flu”.

If they hadn’t hid it from the world for a month or more, we probably wouldn’t be going through all this. They own it. It is theirs. It should be named after them.

RE: Which nations have wet markets?

Almost every Southeast Asian nation including Taiwan and Hongkong have wet markets.

They have been in existence long before the USA was born.

Africa has the same, but there it's called "bush meat."

This isn’t the first pandemic that has its roots in China and likely the wet markets. Closer analysis of the Spanish flu indicates it actually originated in China. SARS originated there and tied to wild bats. This is at least the third strike. China should be out.

IDK, the bats in question are actually found 600 miles away and reports are that the wet market wasn’t selling bats...

But there were bats of that species in the lab located nearby.

Garlic and butter and just about anything can taste good (love escargot).
Cultivation, preparation and process is what’s missing.

Personalty, I think the story about boiling live dogs in those ‘wet markets’ is a little more compelling than the ‘bat’ stories ...

It is not just eating these critters. I don't think they cook the meat adequately. Tossing this stuff in a stir fry for a couple of minutes does not cook the meat properly to kill all the bugs.
