This is total bullcrap!

General aviation pilots who fly their aircraft from point A to point B is no different than someone driving their automobile from point A to point B.

Flying an aircraft is different than driving a car. All pilots are required by the FAA to maintain proficiency and get periodic training. Landing and take off requirements (day and nightl in each type of plane you’re rated in, in my case that’s multi and single engine and tailwheel aircraft. Plus instrument approach proficiency. In addition flight reviews are mandated. If you fly turbine aircraft you are also required to do annual training and on and on and on. Pilots quickly lose the skills needed if they don’t fly regularly. That goes double for the less experienced pilots. All this is why aviation is deemed essential, especially flight schools.
