SINGAPORE - Singapore reported 120 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, by far its highest daily rise, and quarantined nearly 20,000 migrant workers in their dormitories.

No mention by Reuters where the 20,000 workers are from.
Looks like Singapore has found the source. So everyone was running around saying “see now Singapore has seen half measures don’t work. Lockdown!!!” Turns out they let “migrant workers” in and compromise the measures they originally took
We need to start harping day in and day out about open borders. The Old Media will not report this.

Most likely neighboring countries. The difference between there and here is that they all come LEGALLY, and they all have to leave after a certain period of time. Their families also stay put back home. That’s the proper way to handle guest workers, if they’re even needed.
In the US, it would nice to first put the lazy bums to work, before relying on people from other countries.

I worry about Lucky Plaza (Filipino Domestic Workers) or City Plaza (Indonesian Domestic Workers). Places are absolutely packed on Sunday which is their day off.

I suspect 14 days in a dorm for migrant workers will turn out like 14 days quarantine on a cruise ship.

I was about to say , these workers are likely from the Philippines, Malaysia and Pakistan (if it were similar to when I was last there five years ago), but you covered it in much better detail.
Singapore has great public health standards, but the non-citizens don’t live up to expectations.
They are migrant workers from China. My brother is living there and having trouble getting a flight out. His company is not helping
There is a sizable Malaysian (Muslim) sector.
But Malays, Filipinos, Indonesians, Burmese etc don’t live in dorms
Usually Indians, Communist Chinese or Banglas do.
Indians live to riot in Singapore, get drunk and sleep naked in MRT stations... hence the banning of alcohol in Little India on the weekends.
They also love going to Lucky Plaza to harass Filipinas and City Plaza to harass Indonesian women, asking every single woman there for sex.
