Dr. Deborah Birx said Saturday that Americans should especially focus on social distancing guidelines in the next two weeks to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
This is the moment to not be going to the grocery store, not going to the pharmacy, but doing everything you can to keep your family and your friends safe, she said.
Birx noted that Pennsylvania, Colorado, and the Washington, DC, metro area were starting to have an increasing number of cases.
Were hoping and believing that if people mitigate strongly, the work that they did over the last two weeks will blunt that curve, she said.
She pointed to really bad hotspots in New Jersey and New York, where cases of the virus and deaths were still going up.
The next two weeks are extraordinarily important, she said.
Dr. Anthony Fauci also said three or four hotspots were continuing to rise, but that certain areas could flatten the curve by social distancing.
Just make sure everybody does the at least minimal amount of that physical separation, because the virus has no place to go if youre physically separating, Fauci said.

“the surgeon general was on WMAL (WashDC) at 0830 saying masks were a waste of time for the general population,”
The Surgeon General doesn’t impress me, especially because of hir masks lies. But he is clean and articulate.
Have you watched recently? I haven’t watched for the last couple of days but at that point they said that the surge appeared that it wouldn’t arrive until mid April and they said multiple times that the peak wasn’t until mid-May.
“Im about to start buying FOP.”
FOP?
“Friends of Hillary” I still cant get this our of my head.
NY NJ and other big cities are the epicenters because of their political criminals running it
And she has put he whole class on detention because of one bad actor. Principal Trump needs to intervene.
Scared one, are you at high risk?
THAT IS NOT THE CHOICE FOR 95% OF THE POPULATION!!!! PLEASE STOP IT!!! THE CHOICE FOR THEM IS TO LIVE OR CATCH THE SNIFFLES!!!!
I thought projection was a liberal thing. But old farts and those with pre existing conditions project those contrived fears on to the the 95% of the population the is at little or no risk what s ever. Shame, shame on all of you fear mongers. If that is what you are doing then you deserve what happens to you . I sneeze in your general direction losers. Shame!!!!
Old farts like you at high risk project your fears onto the 95% that are at no at risk. Shame on you . Shame.
Oh.....
You would have to multiply the total deaths so far in this virus by 3 or 4 to come to the deaths caused by the regular flu in each of the past two years,2018-2019 deaths caused by flu were between 36,400-61,200,so far 2019-2020 flu deaths are 22,000,don’t know how they tell the difference between corona virus and flu because they just got a test for the virus, your guess is as good as mine
Details, details......
Oh?
And how would that be, exactly?
Are you above 70? And/or high risk? If so then your opinion is slanted to the fear mongering side of things.
Eggs last far longer than most people realize.
I grew up making Ukrainian Easter Eggs, and the eggs have to be room temperature for it to work right. So wed buy the eggs and just let them sit out so they were always ready to work on when someone felt like it.
The eggs would often sit out for three weeks at a time before we blew them out and only very rarely did we have an egg actually go bad.
And those were with store bought eggs, which are generally far older than most people realize.
If you can get fresh farm eggs and keep them in a cold enough fridge, they will last about forever. Were not sure how long cause weve never had them last long enough to go bad.
On that note, we keep our fridge set very low, to about the suspended animation temperature. We turn it down until the milk starts to freeze, then bump it up just enough so that it doesnt. It tends to be about 33-34 F if you have a refrigerator thermometer. Leftovers keep very well at that temp too.
I met someone who actually got out her bread maker and dusted it off and started making her own bread so she would leave the bread in the stores for people who didnt have that option.
I know those bread makers are popular but honestly, making homemade bread is NOT hard, even without a bread machine.
Grow up.
Same at ours. You go in through the back of the cart foyer, single file.
