Like Vindman he did not follow chain of command
Shouldnt be in military
Just like the perfumed idiots at the NSC that tried sabotaging Trump. Gitmo tribunals.
Or like an Emotional Thinker, who has no business commanding an aircraft carrier.
What if the chain of command in this instance was unresponsive? There seems to be something missing here — he was on the same ship (and “feet away”) from the fleet commander. Did they not get along? Was his superior against
taking any action?
“The captain sounds like an 0bama perfumed prince.”
That’s my take. If an enlisted had broken the chain of command the way this guy did, there would be a court marshal, and potential dishonable discharge.
I knew this story had some serious stink.
“What if the chain of command in this instance was unresponsive?”
Then document, and inform that you’re going one step up. There is a right way, and a wrong way.
Loose lips sink ships. Especially when the Commander emails an open letter to a newspaper. What an idiot. He deserves worse than what he got IMO.
As with so much these days, this is just weird. The Navy does not just hand the keys to a freaking Nimitz-class flattop to a random airdale. There’s a lot of competition for that job.
What’s even stranger is that the captain didn’t discuss this with the admiral, on the same ship, whose quarters were next door to the captain. They saw each other every single day. How does a guy just decide to chuck his career overboard in this fashion?
None of this makes any sense at all.
Even if that were true it doesn’t justify Crozier sending letter to over 20 people knowing full well it would be leaked to press.
He complained his ship needed cleaning proving he couldn't even organize his own top to bottom "field day."
The best maintenance mechanics and machine shops in the world and he couldn't figure out how to help himself. He could have set up quarantine stations on the hangar deck. He could have set up watch shifts and rotations to keep healthy people away from sick people. He could have asked to use his planes to fly in testing kits and experts to train his medical staff so he could test everyone on board and isolate sick from healthy.
There is a lot he could have done. And he has a lot of capable and creative folks working for him - officers and senior and junior enlisted. He wasn't on his own. But instead of drawing on the best of himself and his command he disgraced and embarrassed everyone.
Betcha he's a Total Democrat!
Loose lips sink... careers.
“Modly said Crozier had cced more than 20 people, including some outside the chain of command, over unsecured and unclassified systems, assuring the memos leak.
He also said Crozier did not speak to his direct superior, carrier strike group commander Rear Adm. Stuart Baker, about his concerns before sending the memo, despite Baker being on the carrier and living within feet of Crozier.”
Have a solution Capt. Fire one!
>>> The captain sounds like an 0bama perfumed prince.
Who will probably turn the Wesley Clark and Joe Sesstak route.
If he’s not using his service as a jumping stone, then I take back my words.
Of course all three mentioned here are still WAAAAAAAAAAY better than the American gigolo John Fn Kerry.
Making public issues of the ship’s preparedness not only put his crew in danger but the nation he serves to defend.
:: “Navy procedures to protect the health of sailors...we are not doing this.”
I think I can see commander Crozier’s problem, right here.
Having never served, even ^I^ know better than to tell the higher command that you aren’t going to follow their commands.
On top of that, he isn’t intellectually fit since he put the same in writing.
!! The stupid...it burns !!
Not defending him by any stretch. Taking your beef to the press is an unforgivable sin. IMHO. At the same time I can understand why he didnt want to lose half of his Staff in the next couple of weeks. That would have put the ship into non mission capable for a long time. I guess they could fly in new officers but for how long? Standing watch on these duty stations has to be something you train for for years. I imagine the senior NCOs are in their 50s.
I know what I would do but I aint saying because it might be too close to correct.
