The model that claimed two million Americans and half a million Brits would die has been quietly revised down after taking social distancing into account. The new version was off by a factor of 25. Not 25%, but dropping from two million dead to maybe a hundred thousand.
But that doesn’t make the news. It isn’t considered important. Let’s freak out about case rates, ignoring even recovery rates.

“I know many of you have heard of the nursing home in Gallatin where a lot of their residents and staff became infected with CV. The good news is that many of them have improve to the point that they are going to release many of them Monday if their condition continues to improve. My wife, a hospital pharmacist at the hospital where many are being treated, says that the doctors gave some of them Plaquanil and various antibiotics, but you have to be very careful that their kidney and liver functions are good or the drugs could cause kidney or liver failure. Just a few had to be intubated.”
Good on that hospital near Gallatin!
Thank your wife for her service; she is on the front lines in this war !
There needs to be a plan of attack consisting of identifying, treating, and curing those infected and getting the Country back to work.
Instead, all we get is doom and gloom 24/7 from the media. This, in turn is parroted by the sheep.
In my opinion, President Trump needs to kick Hillary's boyfriend in the ass and get him out of the loop.
When this is all over I firmly believe we will find there have been numerous false information that was deliberately put out there to decieve us!!!
Models are like lawyers who believe that all possibilities must have equal probabilities.
Model makers will disagree with that, of course. But policy makers do intentionally induce panic in order to control the population.
It seems to me they really ramped up the psy-op to scare us into social distancing after those Florida spring break beach pictures started to circulate.
When Birx acknowledged that 93K number you could tell she was not happy about it. Some reporter had just put her on the spot over source dats.
The major hospital in our area is not jammed up at all.
"The models are treated with an awful lot of reverence - by some of the same people who treat the climate models the same way.
Thats good news
My husband was a financial modeler for years and always had work, because as soon as the info he was given changed (and it did quite often), his models had to change.
He had a cartoon at his desk that showed a guy standing in a snowstorm dressed in a swimsuit and he was saying, “Why, yes, I’m an economic forecaster, how did you know?”
I read that they decided to take patients who had not yet tested negative for Covid, not patients who are hospitalized for Covid. Previously, they would only take patients who had tested negative.
LOL!Have you followed Scott Adams blog any?
His critique of AGW is that it depends on "the kind of computer models that have never worked.
Before he started drawing the Dilbert cartoon, he himself was an economic modeler for a financial institution of some sort . . .
"the kind of computer models that have never worked fail because of Rumsfelds classic unknown unknowns. Black swans. In retrospect you can always rationalize why you coulda woulda shoulda seen them coming - but then, the next one always comes along and its different but the same. Blindsided again! The interesting thing about the Corona virus is that it was known of, but not really known. And the stock markets went all the way to nearly 30k on the Dow, without discounting the global - not just American - impact.
Yes, Adams is a riot. It’s been a while since I read his blog. Thanks for reminding me.
