Were Canadian officials a little slow off the mark on COVID-19? Maybe.
They probably didn’t implement travel bans quickly enough but they were reasonably quick at shutting non-essential services and demanding social distancing once the full threat was understood.
And they did vastly better than their American counterparts.
There are reports from Toronto and Vancouver that federal officials are still letting foreign air travellers into the country without proper screening and mandatory isolation. If that’s true, it’s unforgivable.

I live in a city of 80 thousand in Canada We have a regional hospital that services nearly 500 thousand people. They only have 20 ventilators. And I know that because I know one of the hospital administrators. The public health officials will not answer how may ventilators the system actually has.Its treated like a state secret.
Canadians hold their government and public health officials in a high state of distrust and cynicism.You can iunderstand why. They are just pseurs, very muck like Prime Minister trudeau, who abdicates leadership to identity politics and political correctness.

I talked to some liberals tonight who could not understand how closing the borders, a hateful action they said, could prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Public healthcare is just overpriced GP care. Ive long said that when talking to public healthcare supporters. I’ve also told liberals that they need to be dragged off to labour camps to understand why their POV is wrong.

One thing I like about Trump is that he doesn't do either.
His intellect is keen enough, and he is honest and wise enough to see the leftist, PC mass psychosis for exactly what it is.
Those who are fighting against him are actually fighting against truth and benevolence. They cannot understand--because they don't want to--that Trump is their superior by far--intellectually, morally, in puissance, in benevolence, and in honesty. This they cannot accept.
Contempt for truth is the evil most fundamental to the decadence of Western Civilisation. Trump is truthful. That's one of the main things his enemies hate--that and the threat truth poses to their grip on power and also to their cherished illusions, which means their grip on sanity.
