The US on Friday set a new record for the number of COVID-19 deaths in one day with 1,480 dead, the most of any country since the pandemic began. That topped the record set by the US the previous day with 1,169 deaths.

I am with you bray the entire damn country is being modeled after NY which is asinine!! I am in CA. we have just over 10,000 cases and under 300 fatalities with a population of 40 million!!! The people in NY live on top of each other they are crammed into subways everyday AND if you look at the very serious area of NY they are the communities where more than one family is living in a dwelling, MANY have diabetes and pre diabetes a couple of the hospitals in NY are on overload BUT most are not!! ALL of the reporting is being done on NY why?? There is very little to report about in all the other state Louisiana has an outbreak BUT they just had Mardi Gras
so that would be expected!!! Washington State numbers are very low where all of this hysteria started!! Get the damn country back to work!!

Fauci is a fraud. He is being torn apart more and more everyday by other experts and the conservative base is lining up against this loser. Rush, Hannity, Levin, Ingraham, even Tucker are citing a host of economic and infectious disease experts as well as stat gurus who are questioning the current approach.

Step right up folks as Dr. Frauduci recommends a year long lockdown and recognizes the “inconvenience” as he continues to collect his $384,000/year government salary. You will be screwed, but don’t worry about him, he will be just fine.
Cures? Treatments? To hell with them says Dr. Geezer. LOCKDOWN!!! Onto CNN where he can get his jollies undermining Trump and anyone for that matter who dares to point out that this virus will seem like a joke when compared to the death and destruction that economic ruination will bring.
Dare to bring that up and it’s “wild or speculation.” But the models of viral doom that are proving wrong again and again and again? Those are sacrosanct.

It isn’t just me on FR anymore. Levin sees if, Rush sees it and a host of others. These are the temperature of his supporters and he had better pay attention to them. They don’t see it because they claim to be experts. They see if because what other experts see, are saying and being ignored.
You and I have gone round and round on this. Your standard answer seems to be: “if you criticize Frauduci, you criticize Trump.” A false premise for the reasons many point out and you don’t address.
What you never seem to address is:
Why is if that Fauci can’t wait to Lockdown but downplays any evidence from the field of effective treatments?
Why is if that any projection about the virus is sacrosanct but any projection about the collateral damage being worse is instantly dismissed?
What about all the times Dr. Fauci was wrong? Why does he not have a credibility problem.
Why is it ok for a highly paid government employee to completely dismiss economic impacts as an “inconvenience” while he is secure in his job?
What about all the other bureaucrats and insiders that Trump inherited that either purposeful stabbed him in the back or served him poorly? Why is if so hard to fathom that it might be happening again?
I don’t know what your point is. You seem to be saying that it’s pointless to save any lives because everyone will die sooner or later. Are you a nihlist?
My point is that humans reach a point where the slightest illness or injury will finish them off, and sometimes they have not grown old at that point.

You have attempted to assert that without Coronavirus all these people would be alive today. You do not and cannot know that.
It could be a common cold, or fear at nearly falling, or learning of the death of someone loved.
You take precautions but the precautions have to be reasonable.
The measures taken now are way out of proportion to the threat for many of the people.
The elderly and the other people identified as being at risk could be questioned without quarantining the entire nation.

We first learned of hydroxychloroquine because a bunch of tourists on one of the quarantined cruise ships were taking it to prevent malaria and it prevented them from contracting the disease or becoming carriers. We should be producing enough hydroxychloroquine to dose young healthy people and put them back to work, not having almost the entire nation sitting on their asses at home.
The bizarre aspect to this is that almost half the deaths are in New York.
