There are nine confirmed cases of coronavirus among Los Angeles’ homeless population, said Barbara Ferrer, director of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, at her Thursday media briefing.
This is up from five the day before and comes as the city and county attempt to more aggressively test in places like skid row. Ferrer said it was challenging to know exactly where in the county these homeless people had been, but so far there had been no clustering of cases.
She said there had been cases at two shelters but didn’t reveal their names or locations.
The Times reported earlier this week that the first confirmed case on skid row came from an employee of the Union Rescue Mission who lived in the shelter.

Doesn’t the ‘rona know that the homeless are exempt?
For starters I’m guessing it will spread like fire and they’ll be clogging up the hospitals. Many will die because they are largely unhealthy to begin with.

We will find out soon enough. That was my initial thought sometime back. The homeless already have compromised immune systems, and the virus has the possibility to kill tens of thousands of them.
Yeah. It has something to do with high housing costs that leaves hypes, the mentally ill, and career criminals to fend for themselves on the street.

The homeless now. Before that it got the gays and tranz. Next, the Corona will set its eyes on 155 of the 157 genders.

So now they have to move all the tents farther apart?
That’s going to take up a lot more area.
Yes the virus has the possibility to kill Tens of Thousands of them. Finally the doomsayers will get their desires of hundreds of dead bodies laying around in the streets. They will be able to say we told you so!
So, they get to blame Trump for the deaths, get rid of their homeless, and in November the will vote democrate.
How to get them to "Shelter in Place" when they don't have a place?
The snicker here in DC is how they took the homeless out of their tents, put them into shelters, and today, took them out of their shelters and put them in tents.
To be fair, it was so they could disinfect the shelters, and they said the homeless should be back inside by bedtime, but only a Dim wouldn’t get a chuckle out of that.
