I distinctly member standing up in Grand Rounds for Neurology and Neurosurgey (in a room with 200 people) saying “This is War!” When people were deciding on just giving people peach pit poison for cancer. “Is there an outcome WORSE than DEATH?” It seemed to me correct at the time. I remember the old geezers were stunned. Turns out they were right. Peach pit poison didn’t work.
As you can see, I have changed my position over the decades.
