Americans shouldn’t assume hydroxychloroquine is a “knockout drug” in preventing or treating COVID-19, White House health advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci warned Friday.
“We still need to do the definitive studies to determine whether any intervention, not just this one, is truly safe and effective,” Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said on Fox News. “But when you don’t have that information, it’s understandable why people might want to take something anyway even with the slightest hint of being effective.”

I think in some sick way they are glad people are dying. Many of them tried to stop the hydroxychloroquine from reaching people in need. Why? because they were hoping more would die that’s why.
It would have made Trump look bad.
All the while pretending they give two craps about people’s lives.

Can’t understand Fauci’s insistence of keeping HCQ under wraps. What does he have against the positive news from abroad about the use of this drug?
BTW Cuomo’s brother tested positive. When he recuperates (and he will), did he receive HCQ treatment against his brother’s objection or did they secretly slip him a dosage just for grins?

According to the large survey of doctors (someone posted the link already on the thread), 33% of doctors surveyed worldwide have prescribed hydroxychloroquine for coronavirus, while only 23% of American doctors have. Naturally, this means that over 3/4 of patients in the US aren’t being treated with it (and the survey also noted that in the US unlike the rest of the world, patients usually only received it if they were high-risk and not displaying only mild symptoms, which may not be the best use for the drug). Beyond that, it isn’t a cure; it just helps prevent the virus from taking over new cells in the body and spreading.
Consider that it may just be within the realm of possibilities that Fauci knows this is all gaslight. Happy talk. A distraction. The “shiny object”.
Hydroxychloroquine may not be a “knockout” drug, but it certain go a long way toward leveling the field, and make way for other drug protocols to work.
It is. Check out worldometers. It is not “astonishingly exponential”, but exponential nevertheless. It is doubling every 2-4 days.
Its ALL about orange man bad..does anyone here think that if Obama or an Obama official had said to use these drugs that they would NOT have been used by now..everyone would have taken it, been cured, and everyone would have said, bless you messiah Obama for saving us

No, I am not being sarcastic. I am being envious. The doctors in my insurance system still decline to prescribe hydroxychoroloquine and Z-pack for COVID-19. That course of treatment is not yet approved on their formularies and they would presumably be fired if they prescribed it. Unless that was a hypothetical prescription.
Medical decisions should not be made by insurance clerks.

The president could cite the emergency and insert one of the world’s foremost brain surgeons into the spokesman capacity to reassure the public during this time of crises.
