The underlying issue here is whether we should obey our laws, and most would think that the appropriate choice.
IMO it should be taught at the elementary school level that merely disliking a law is not a basis for asserting it is political oppression - that if we don't like a law we enjoy the freedom to gather like-minded individuals and make an effort to change the law.
