Good rant.

Will never be made here, costs too much

Yes items may cost more to produce in the US, but they also have the advantage that they can be be promoted as "Made in the USA" - and there IS a potential market for that, with people even willing to pay more.

Never could see why that isn't happening now ... does nobody understand marketing anymore??!

Exactly. We could easily engage in a cultural demand for “Made in the USA”. So long as people are just resigned to “won’t happen”, well, then it “won’t happen”. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy.

...the threat is China, if we can’t just start with a “not from China” buying attitude we’re toast.

If more goods were made here we’d have such a good economy that we wouldn’t care if things cost a bit more. We’re selling each other out every time we buy from China. We can blame the globalists if we want but we’re also to blame, we keep chasing ever-cheaper goods as though there’s no negative. Wrong.

Another marketing angle...if you buy American, you don't have to worry about poisoning yourself or your pets...and wonder if it was profit seeking or an attack.
