Duterte never wanted the Presidency ... fought it for months, but finally buckled under immense public pressure.
His platform was simple;
Anti-criminality and drugs.
After election (a bout a year before Trump) he cleaned up the cops, the politicians, the military and anyone else who was corrupt.
He didn't get rid of drugs, but they are GREATLY reduced because he did/does have death squads (We are a small nation and cannot afford to lose ANY mama's or papa's or young people to drugs ... I will kill the drug dealer to stop him from killing my people)
Remember .... Filipino's LOVE him.

That says it all. Whatever he's doing, it seem to be working for the people, not the globalists nor the elite. If he doesn't like the US but likes the Chicoms, so what? That's his business and his people's business.
And they still do. Among the COTs (common, ordinary troops) the Chinese are not very popular in the Philippines. They are tolerated. By the way, the Germans are not popular either, but I think that is for a different reason.
They have their own way of doing things. Some may not like it, but it seems to work for them. 🤗
