Exactly. Nor are there any H1B spouses picking crabs in Maryland and Virginia.

During WWII the cash crop farms (since gone) in my county were tended by German POWs. When the boys came home, they wanted to start families and not work the family farms. This spelled the end to cash crops and canning here.

Although the idea of transgender studies majors picking tomatoes amuses me, it is not going to happen. Mechanization is reducing the need for pickers of many crops.
