PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WKBN) – A Pittsburgh area pastor says he plans to organize a large, Woodstock-like outdoor Easter service to protest the stay-at-home orders amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
Conservative Christian Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth made the announcement on social media after the arrests of pastors in the U.S. for failing to comply with state-at-home orders.
“How do you lay hands on people online? How do you baptize people online? How do you anoint with oil and lay hands on the sick?” he asked.
He said the government is infringing on the rights of people to assemble for religion.
He said the large outdoor gathering will be “like Woodstock.”

He is sounding more orthodox than most of the Orthodox Hierarchy.
None of those things require a large in-person crowd to witness.
I guess he doesn't want to give people the impression of being a good steward and good neighbor. Being those things should not require "orders" of a government.
The American Spirit of Our Founders is beginning to stir to life. In Rebellion to the call to cower like sheep that the effete elite are demanding of us.
Remember this my friend. The American Rebellion, the Revolution, was fought and supported by a mere 17% of the population of the day.
The remainder were passive cowards. Unhappy with the Crown, bitching and complaining but, unwilling to buck the Crown. They pissed and moaned in their homes to no avail.
When the Patriots called them to arms they never answered the call. It was approximately the 17% that answered the call to arms and created the USA.
To this day it remains so. There is today the 17% and then there is the rest. The weak. The pathetic. The Cowards. The Handwringers. The Wuhan Flu Cowards.
They cower in their homes while our Great Country and our Great Economic Engine is in jeopardy of collapse. And, they are perfectly content with that as long as they think they will be safe.
They are NOT Americans. Thay are f’ing pathetic cowards and real Americans are fast growing tired of them.

So, a credential from some Ivy League Institution is all that is necessary for you to surrender your freedoms?
Someone with a credential on a piece of paper is all you need to surrender your God-Given Constitutional rights?
You will easily and willingly surrender all that so many fought and died for to a few with a Liberal University degreed Liberal Pinheads that proclaims them your betters. And, as your bettors, you will dutifully believe and obey?

Have you ever heard of GIGO? Garbage In Garbage Out? So, based on your response you MUST Logically be a Global Warming believer. Because those projections are based entirely on the same BS Computer Models as the dire projections of this Wuhan Flu.
There is absolutely no difference between the two issues. They are BOTH based on the same type of Computer Models where the input parameters can be manipulated to reveal whatever result the people inputting the parameters desire.
I’ve never heard of this knucklehead before today and I hope that I don’t hear much of him after next week. If you faith depends upon specific physical acts according to an immutable calendar date, it’s not faith, it’s superstition. We’ve been quite lucky on that front in prior years, but this is a different type of year.
If your faith depends upon confronting authority in a time when all that is asked of you is to modify your behavior for a few weeks while the course of a transmissible disease runs its course so that local healthcare facilities are not overrun with new infections all at once, you could be placing your faith in the healing power of God, but you’re also going to be viewed as a dumbass who is begging the state to crack down on him so he can act like a martyr, a stupid stupid martyr.
This act might be seen as some sort of defiance against Caesar, but it ain’t gonna spread no Gospel to unbelievers, and it ain’t gonna be seen as a testimonial of faith if he ends up putting members of his “flock” in the hospital.
God gave us the ability to gain knowledge and improve our situation.
These so called pastors are exactly the false prophets the Bible warns us against.
At the bottom of every Pennsylvania shutdown order I’ve seen, religious groups are exempt. The order is here in a PDF, and says “nothing in this policy” shall affect the operations of “religious institutions” as well as news media, law enforcement. So this guy’s protest may not actually be violating anything in Pennsylvania.

Is shutting down the economy and our freedoms improving our situation? When our boys go off to war, they’re not seeking to improve their lives, they’re seeking to defend the country’s way of life. This doesn’t look all that different to me. This pandemic is not something that can destroy the country or our way of life. Only we can do that by living in fear of it. Many of the great American speeches, mottos and songs specifically tell us to not live life according to our fears.
We used computer models to project the orbit and landing of the InSight Lander on the surface of Mars. Sure there can be “Garbage In Garbage Out.” NASA’s Mars Climate Orbiter burned up in the Martian atmosphere because engineers failed to convert units from English to metric in software controlling the orbiter’s thrusters. NASA was willing to pay $327.6 million that their software was correct. The cost of the InSight Lander was $814 million and with their roll of the dice they were successful.
With all the computer capacity that Researchers at the University of Washington Medicine’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, I am certain their models are close enough that I would put money on them.
