Some right-wing supporters of President Trump have labeled Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, as a member of the “deep state” trying to undermine Trump’s reelection.
In the past, Trump has supported measures to re-open the economy by Easter.
Fauci on occasion has stepped to the podium to correct or amend statements from Trump on the virus, related timelines and potential cures.
Fauci declined to comment Wednesday as to whether he’s been given added security — but Trump jumped in.
“He doesn’t need security. Everybody loves him,” Trump said. “Besides that, they’d be in big trouble if they ever attacked him.”
But by that point, a Justice Department official Tuesday had on already signed off on authorizing HHS to provide its own detail to Fauci, according to the Washington Post.

He not only undermined President Trump, he maligned doctors who are and did make a life saving decision for their patient.

He’s doing way better than the slightly younger Biden on the mental performance.
Fauci has learned a lot since this started and is a better person because of it. I think he appreciates Trump a great deal more. Trump has a way of winning people over.
The left has this magical vision that a lock down will somehow stop the spread of the virus. And yes, I have heard people say that a 2 week, er, 4 week, er, 6 week, etc. lock down will somehow “stop” the virus.
It’s a virus, you will never stop the spread and any attempt to will fail. Places like NYC need to be treated different than some rural county in the Midwest without a single case and the nearest neighbor a half mile away not 50 feet.

HHS has to get permission from the DOJ to use its own security personnel or does this have something to do with using HHS security as bodyguards?

I don't remember hearing the first part, but heard the 2nd part many MANY times.
100,000 to 240,000 American deaths doesn't sound very low risk to me.
