We came across some intelligence some time ago that the drug cartels as a result of covid-19 were going to try to take advantage of the situation and try to infiltrate additional drugs into our country.”
“We are at war with terrorists and we are at war with the drug cartels as well,” Milley continued. “This is the United States Military. You will not penetrate this country. You will not get past jump street. You’re not going to come in here and kill additional Americans. And we will marshal whatever assets are required to prevent your entry into this country to kill Americans.”

Coupla weeks ago, Trump announced a nationwide roll up of cartel streongholds, bypassing the FBI and coordinated with state LE.
About ten years ago here in my home of Douglas county ga, a deputy pulled over an 18 wheeler with hundreds of pounds of meth.
Our meth task force and US marshalls ran investigations for a year, then rolled up the entire logistics chain all the way to the big dude in Mexico.
DEA was furious. Furious. The cartel is their baby.
He's gonna leverage this opportunity to get what he's doing, along with the coronavirus and other issues, in front of the public.
He also used it to tell us that drugs kill 70K here every year, which resonates with everyone worried about "the bug", mentioned the 27K Mexican soldiers on the border and touted the ongoing wall and its benefits....the man knows how to squeeze the last drop of nectar from the stone.
