The lack of logic is astounding. I went to McD’s drive through. The lady handed me a basket in which to put my debit card. She then picked up my card and ran it through the machine and then back into the basket for me. I’m not sure what the basket accomplished - we both touched the card, the basket was just a middleman.

I’m not doing any take out food, but they likely have an app via which you could pay. Chick-Fil-A certainly does, I used it before all the craziness.
I think a certain prez’s well-known germophobia is being being exploited.
Did she have gloves on? If so, then the basket was a transporter only. She touched the card with a gloved hand. If not, you’re absolutely right.
