rance has now officially sanctioned the malaria drug chloroquine as a potential coronavirus treatment for patients infected with the novel coronavirus. In the U.S. President Donald Trump has also been touting the use of chloroquine and a couple of other anti-malarial drugs to fight the deadly virus.
"This ensures continued treatment of patients who have been treated for several years for a chronic condition with this drug but also allows a temporary authorization to allow certain patients with coronavirus to benefit from this therapeutic route," France 24 English quoted Jérôme Salomon, France's director-general of health.
Also, the U.S.FDA has acted fast to make the unproven treatment available to thousands of COVID-19 patients in New York, despite the fact the following facts:
* the drug has not been thoroughly tested
* the initial results are just anecdotal
* critics warn of potentially life-threatening side effects
Such hype about chloroquine being effective in treating COVID-19 patients is also causing a run on supplies for patients with Malaria and Lupus for whom the drug is really meant for.
Doctors in France will now be able to treat COVID-19 patients after Didier Raoult, a renowned physician who specializes in infectious diseases, announced a new clinical trials results. According to that, 78 out of 80 coronavirus patients recovered within 5 days after being treated with chloroquine- which is considerably quicker than the usual 14 days. For some COVID-19 patients, it can take up to 28 days to recover, if at all they did.
Hydroxychloroquine and the combination of lopinavir/ritonavir may be prescribed, dispensed and administered under the responsibility of a doctor to patients affected by COVID-19, in the healthcare establishments which take charge of them, as well as for the continuation of their treatment if their condition allows it and with the authorization of the initial prescriber, at home, Trustnodes quoted Oliver Veral, the Minister of Health.
In the U.K., the government has prohibited the use of chloroquine outside of the trial but that position is now probably untenable since they have to explain why they arent providing treatment as France.
Wonderful news.
Hope this becomes a vaccine, if not an outright cure.
still such a negative, smarmy tone in the article. The whole press hates a DRUG because Trump dared to “tout” or “hype” it
^^^
Exactly. I picked up on that, too. They write like a spoiled child who didn’t get their way because, as you know, orange man bad.
NYS people with COVID can not get these meds from their doctor and pharmacist.
97.5% of the patients in a clinical trial recovered within 5 days, yet the reporter still calls it an “unproven treatment.”
HCQ is a pill so it can’t be a vaccine. However it does appear to be effective. I haven’t read ANY studies where it wasn’t.
that rate is almost too good to be true. praise God.
So is the 97.5% based just on Dr. Raoult’s study or what they are seeing in France right now when using the drug? No offense to Dr. Raoult. I just want to see more results confirming his results.
Yeah, I know. Ridiculous isn’t it? Money, money, money.
They’re waiting until one of their High Priests of Science endorses it. Or maybe until the High Synod of the High Priests of Science convenes and gives its blessing. That may require another trillion dollar sacrifice to one of their pantheon of deities. Then it will become a Proven Treatment.
But Fauci the magnificent needs another six months to be sure.
Thanks
In the patients that I have treated with this protocol (Plaquenil and Zithromax), I see improvement in oxygenation within 6 - 8 hours. It is a pretty amazing turn around. I hope this continues to pan out, but in all of my critical care practices, PUI;s are started on the protocol, and when they have a (+) result, the improvement is impressive and quick.
“despite the fact the following facts”
is that anything like: “He F-ing better should know better”?
The covid19/wuhan flu msm coverage really uncovers a lot more about the press than it does Trump.
The only "proof" the left will accept is if Trump calls it a failure.
But will we learn anything from this good news or will we ignore it? It does not seem to impress Drs. Fauci and Birx.
Bearing good news does not seem their forte. It is easier to present gloomy news to the MSM.This good news should delight Gov. Cuomo, but,he too, is silent on the subject.
