WH looking into random coronavirus test sampling of U.S. population

Fox News contributor Lisa Boothe reported Sunday night that the White House is considering random sampling of the general U.S. population to monitor the spread of the virus while gathering more data around overall mortality rates.
"I reached out to the White House about it and they said it is something they were going to look to do in the next 15 days," Boothe said on "The Next Revolution" on Sunday night.
"I talked to Dr. John Ioannidis of Stanford. He is an epidemiology professor there," she continued. "He said this something that really needs to get done as soon as possible. And the reason why is this will provide us an accurate baseline to know what percentage of the population is infected and actually what the true mortality rate is. And this gives us a better baseline from which public officials can operate from to make decisions like when to reopen the economy, when to send people back to work."

The idea of performing statistically valid random sampling for CV has been discussed by a few FReepers. It's the only way to actually understand the true CV infection wave - over time for regions, spread patterns, population frequency & virulence/strength. That means the presence of antibody/serology for prior/resolved cases, present active infections, and resolutions (death/recovery).
Everything else is just a guess; maybe really well formed estimates, but still ultimately unknown. If/when CDC is militarized to anticipate/detect/react/defend against future bio-attacks, then I would imagine this type of testing ability will be incorporated into any future defense act.

Is there an antibody test yet to see if someone already had the virus, recovered, and never knew they had China Syndrome?

Will not comply. Do not want FedGovZilla to have my DNA.

You’d willingly give them your DNA?

So, I thought I was joking when this came up a few times. Either the WH is reading FR, or maybe I'm actually just a WH shadow influencer softening up the general public for the big reveal. Or, most likely, anyone with a clue about the real requirements for future defensive capabilities is obviously coming up with the same exact conclusions.
This kind of idea is going to launch a vigorous civil rights discussion. What is the duty of the average US citizen to the government in a declared national security emergency?

Yes. Important. That the Fauci/Birxes of the world haven’t prioritized this with the CDC’s vast resources already speaks volumes.

Foolish. You “health before freedom” types would give anything for temporary security, wouldn’t you?

I talked to my Doc about that the 23rd of March. He said he would, except, they had no tests to do it.
I believe I had that virus back at the end of Jan.

And what force do you recommend that FedGov use on the millions of us who won’t comply? Send SWAT or FBI to murder us just like you people did to the people at Waco?

Intelligent people frequently realize the same things completely unrelated with no contact at all. History is full of it. Zeitgeist.

One of whom has been me. It should be done by area and by demographic similar to a political poll with a small +/- MOE. Imperfect for sure, but way better than what we "know" now.
Doing this could yield better data than hundreds of thousands of "drive through" tests administered only in hotspots to people only sick enough to meet the new stringent qualifications for testing.
Do it and watch the mortality rate plummet. Not meant to trivialize or minimize the situation. But getting the truth can't hurt.

“Just like you people did at Waco”? Really? What the F are you talking about?
You don’t think they should be taking random sample tests of the population? They don’t have to force anything on anti-social crazies like you.
To: semantic
Remember, Fauci and Birx have access to the results of a million tests geographically distributed and access to the best computers. Id say if anyone has an idea they do and when I look at the slope of # new deaths it seems to be pointing NNE which would be consistent.

Without some kind of accurate testing ability, the next time a bio-attack occurs, we'll have to go through the same months long drama and $5-10 trillion dollar hit on the economy.
I can pretty much guarantee the #1 thing that's going to come out of this experience is a "Never Again" resolution. If that means that every civilian is considered part of some national active duty response mechanism during a bio attack emergency, then it won't be difficult imaging including broad sampling authority as part of one's national obligation.

I don't think it will. You'll have MORE than enough willing volunteers.

I’d willingly give the police my DNA in an investigation, not sure why I should be worried about it.

I think its a good idea. I know a lot of people are paranoid about them getting your DNA...but chances are pretty good that they already have it anyway. And this might be really useful in getting the truth out.
