It is a difficult line that Trump is walking. He's balancing many competing priorities, and I have no doubt the economy weighs heavily on his mind. I firmly believe he will do the best thing he can do for the United States--there is no question about that.
A good leader is optimistic, but their optimism must be rooted in some reality. If it's April 23rd, or May 1st or May 15th, we can adjust; if it's much beyond June 1, I think President Trump will have a credibility problem.
Still, I'd believe Trump, who is at least penciling in dates, as opposed to some of the naysayers. These are the academic types who don't give dates or even ballparks; they're content to letting the models play out...their only concern being the data.
It’s as if everyone in a position to make decision assumes that there is no risk associated with a completely collapsed economy. The risk associated with 20% - 30% unemployment vastly exceeds any risk associate with this virus. It also swings the door wide open to more and more permanent socialism.

Right now, many individuals are hanging their hope on the government bailout to save them. Yet businesses are getting crushed. Employment is going to take a long, long time to get back to where we were. That means a lot of people who were working may not have a job back for a good long stretch and that government bailout check will be long gone and forgotten. And this is all assuming some other shock doesn’t occur.
For inexplicable reasons, people are just mindlessly ignoring the mounting economic damage that is piling up.
OUTSTANDING comments. Who can question the methodology, definitions, pre-existing conditions, statistical gathering or reporting? Variables? Lots. No other options considered? County by county, city by city, street by street, family by family monitoring with up-to-date knowledge and most efficient tools given to those quarantined families?

We don’t know what other information PDJT is looking at or what data the intelligence community has gathered from China that has not been made public. The closed phone accounts, the reclosing of theaters and that bridge riot give me pause to wonder not if the Chinese are lying (they are) but are lying a whole lot more than usual.
Fauci loves the limelight, but doesn’t seem to realize that he is moving the burden of responsibility from PDJT to himself every time he runs his mouth. If his “science” and projections are wrong PDJT could simply take responsibility for the “wrong science” by firing the expert in charge of that “wrong science”.
I’ve decided to trust the President in his decision making because he is not a dupe or a dope.
Temperature taking at customs will become the norm for foreign visitors, those with fevers will be denied entry. Returning US citizens with fevers may find themselves in quarantine while testing is done.

My office manager along with his wife and son returned from South Africa last week. None of them were had so much as their temperature taken.
They need a reliable, unbiased mental health expert on their team. I have been noting a lack of mental health input for days in the briefings. On this past Sunday, IIRC, Trump was asked a mental health question and instead of deferring to the so-called health experts on his team, he totally winged an answer. Either I am missing something, or something is going on in the background on which we are not being updated, IMHO.
