A “good guy with a gun” fatally shot a woman who had allegedly began to open fire on customers at a shopping plaza in Oklahoma on Friday evening.
The woman had reportedly got into an altercation in the parking lot of the shopping center in Tulsa and returned with a gun a few minutes later.
“A man with a concealed carry permit reportedly told arriving officers that he shot the woman after she started shooting at customers outside the shopping center,” Tulsa World reports. “Video reportedly showed the woman was involved in an earlier altercation in the parking lot. The woman left the shopping center and returned about three minutes later, when she pulled a gun and opened fire, according to the news release.”
Tulsa Police found the woman dead in her vehicle when they arrived.
“I don’t know that there is going to be an arrest made in this particular case at this point. We are still going to go down and we are going to talk to him and figure out what his version is. Once we get the video and we are able to look at that video, I think it’s going to give us a really good idea of what happened here,” Detective Jason White told local station News on 6.
The man, who has not yet been identified, was taken into custody and questioned by the department’s detective division before being released.

If story is accurate and the shooter does not know the suspect decedent and has no connections to her, he’ll be fine. And if this is the case, he should should be recognized as a hero who very likely saved the lives of others.

I know where that neighborhood is. Not a good area to be in. Google Maps shows it to be just North of the McClain Shopping Center on Peoria.
Back in 1973, it was a viable shopping center on the north side of town. One year later, it was completely closed down and only a liquor store was open. The shopping center is still there and empty.
