Our SW WI area is similar.

Just found out that in La Crosse area massage therapists are still working. (12 cases there, entire county and no deaths) DH is retired NMT (medical & board certified) and has retained a very few, favored clients. He is telling them to be careful. An hour in close physical contact in an enclosed space with people whose own contacts and status is unknown, is problematic, to say the least. He will see no one professionally until the situation is resolved/HC+Zpak+zinc is prescribed prophylactically.

We are prepped and self-isolated except for elder hours to replace perishables at Walmart.

These isolation practices are what will save the economy soonest.

No one has the Constitutional right to endanger others or to prolong the economic emergency. This is why the Executive has extraordinary powers. Note that the Ready Reserve is medical personnel needed to supplement civilian clinical staff. NG/Reserves are logistics experts. Actual enforcement is usually left to County Sheriffs.

Remember: if the economy was not shut down, if the previous Executives had actually prepared for a pandemic, if the sanctuary cities/states actually took steps to protect actual citizens, there would have been no need of the Relief Bill, either.

We closed on our property last week. Our buyers are stuck in Cook County due to shut-down orders and a personal medical situation (cancer treatment) and are not charging us rent while we are in limbo due to no one, including realtors, showing properties. In exchange, we are acting as experienced property managers for the place. We estimate another 2-3 months before we can even look for a new home and our buyers are free to move, as well.

Everyone, as POTUS says, is making sacrifices.

My personal Physical Therapist for my foot injury is in Knoxville. He is a physical therapy professor at South College in Knoxville and was one of my grand-daughters professors. He takes clients in his home. He notified everybody that until this is over he won’t be seeing anybody in person but will work with you by email and video. It’s understandable since he works in his home and would be exposing three young children and his wife to anybody that comes to his house.

So far this has not been bad for us. We don’t eat out and rarely go anywhere so that hasn’t impacted us. My husband’s outpatient cataract surgery has been postponed until further notice but he’s taking it like a champ. My daughter is working from home and my SIL is in customer service. He has an office and keeps the door shut since he can do what he does over the phone. People in more rural areas will do fine. It’s the big city crowd that is losing their minds.

We don’t want them coming down here though exposing the locals to the disease. That sounds cold but there is no reason to spread it to people that otherwise wouldn’t be exposed.

A common sense statement among an ocean of irrational panic.
