Because the total number of new cases in the last 24 hours is 303.

Looking at the data the only way you might get to 13,000 is if you counted everyone since the 1st case on Jan 20 who was identified

There are CURRENTLY 6,400 hospitalizations in NYS.(WNBC.NY.)>
At Huntington Hospital in Suffolk County which has 3300 confirmed cases there are CURRENTLY 108 Covid cases in a 267 bed facility. 24 are on ventilators. Huntington Hospital is a small hospital and one of 11 hospitals in the County.

Irrelevant. Hospitalization? For what? Over what time frame? What is the normal number of people hospitalized at this time of year in a city of of 8.6 million?

The cases data does not fit the talking point.

As of Thursday evening those were the Covid patient numbers for Huntington Hospital. 40% of the beds were occupied by patients with one disease. Huntington Hospital is mostly used for general surgery including prep and recovery. It is also a trauma receiving destination for northwedt Suffolk County. If you think that such a facility as Huntington turning 40% of its beds over to Covid patients is no big deal then it is of little use continuing this. Stay safe

I think the number of serious/critical cases on worldometers.info is not reliable. I’ve seen days when that number was much lower than the number of deaths the same day in the same country. I don’t see how someone can die if they are not first in serious condition, but I’m learning new things all the time.
