Running beneath it all, in a continuous loop through our national psyche, are basic questions leaders are struggling to answer: When can we safely lift these quarantines? How many people could die if we do it too early? Just how dangerous will this pandemic turn out to be?
This is why epidemiology exists. Its practitioners use math and scientific principles to understand disease, project its consequences, and figure out ways to survive and overcome it. Their models are not meant to be crystal balls predicting exact numbers or dates. They forecast how diseases will spread under different conditions.
But one factor many modelers failed to predict was how politicized their work would become in the era of President Trump, and how that in turn could affect their models.

But in fact, Ferguson had not revised his projections in his testimony, which he made clear in interviews and Twitter. His earlier study had made clear the estimate of 500,000 deaths in Britain and 2.2 million in the United States projected what could happen if both took absolutely no action against the coronavirus.

Not enough people look beyond the headlines on these studies and so miss the caveats.
There are interviews being given on TV by Doctor after Doctor to the newsmedia and nobody mentions Hydoxychloroquine as a treatment. The medical personnel complains that the death rate is high. Does the medical profession have their heads where the Sun don’t shine?
The media should have considered this when they were destroying their credibility all these years.
Simple rule: if they have to keep convincing us it is serious, it isn’t. If it was a major catastrophe, most people would have people close to them suffering, and we wouldn’t need the constant escalation of liberty robbing steps, because people would be isolating as a matter of self preservation, without being told to.

The people who died with only corona virus would be 1/100 th of the death toll. 99% of the corona virus deaths had other diseases like cancer,H1N1 flu etc.
So they couldn't say it was the corona virus that caused the death but they are.It could have been the H1N1 flu that the deceased also had that caused the death but they are adding it to the corona virus death toll.
So the death rate and tolls are really much much lower than they are saying it is (lower than the flu). And they are destroying the USA and planet for some false statistics and to win the election , to get one man:

So, it may very well be that people dying from the flu are being counted as virus cases. When this is all over, the math will reveal itself and the liars too.

I doubt British scientists are as Trump obsessed as you think.
Ann Barnhardt says 99% of the corona virus deaths had other co-morbidities like cancer or the H1N1 flu. So only less than 1% of the death toll they keep blasting all over the media had only corona virus. So this seems weaker than an average common cold or common flu but they are making it out to be like the pandemic of all time and destroying the economy, country and planet all to get one man.
You'd be surprised. I was in London during Trump's last visit for the NATO anniversary. The amount of sheer venom directed at him from the media was something to behold.
Scientists aren't completely apolitical but don't confuse them with the media.
The ones giving the warnings can’t be trusted. So, unfortunately, yes is my answer.
I think arithmetic is a fraud, like astrology.
