The House of Representatives on Friday started debating the CCP virus relief package the Senate passed earlier in the week as President Donald Trump called for ejecting a GOP representative who is considering blocking a vote on the legislation.

.@RepThomasMassie is one of the most principled men in Congress & loves his country. He is defending the Constitution today by requiring a quorum. There’s nothing 3rd rate about that, @realDonaldTrump. I may miss vote if he forces roll call (flights) but it will pass. Back off. https://t.co/ms8TM3rJp8

Representatives entered the House chamber to begin up to three hours of debate on the Senate Amendment to H.R. 748. The bill outlines payments to people and businesses, billions for airlines, and a large small business support.

Members were told in an updated schedule that leaders were hopeful the bill will pass by voice vote but that they should travel to Washington if they’re “able and willing.” Some lawmakers boarded flights early Friday.

Remember when people scoffed at Romney when he suggested giving everyone a $1,000.
We’ve come a long way baby...since when he said that..was it last week?

I agree. Would Pelosi and the Democrats using the event of pandemic, death and economic destruction to their advantage and hold the country hostage if they wouldn’t get their way? Surely in such an emergency situation they wouldn’t do that. Well, they sure did. That’s why it is dangerous to elect people like this to position of power.

>the children in the CONgrift will avoid them as long as possible.

At worst Congress should have awakened to the need for emergency remote sessions on 911, in part because they were probably the target of the 4th plane and for certain when W grounded them along, with everyone else, for a week. It may not have been as routine then, but remote conferencing existed and the government could have established a working system. Money was free that week too. They probably should have done it before then. Tom Clancy's best seller's method of wiping out nearly the whole government, making Jack Ryan President, was all too possible before 911 made it real.

In unaccustomed defense of Amy Klobuchar I must report she claims business had separated them the couple weeks before her husband became ill. She might have an excuse for avoiding quarantine.

Republicans need a new candidate in that district.

Republicans need candidates like him in every district!

What is it about a $2 trillion-dollar cowflop that suggests "victory" to you?

Funny thing, this was 800MM when it started, and I thought it was a bad idea then, unless they were counting tax reductions as 'spending'. And yet, somehow, we end up with a juggernaut that's nearly three times bigger?
