A particular irony of the situation here in the UK is that, after an unusually long, damp and dreary winter, spring suddenly arrived on the very day of the lockdown. Since then we've had glorious unbroken sunshine and light winds, the magnolias and other spring flowering shrubs are all bursting into bloom at once, a huge high pressure system is covering the north Atlantic and doesn't look as if it's going anywhere soon, and it's generally felt good to be alive.

No wonder that on lockdown day half the country headed into the mountains, moors, coast and hills to soak up the vitamin D and banish SAD - much to the despair of the authorities urging the opposite, but things have settled down since.

That’s what I’m doing. Yesterday was glorious here; today it’s overcast. It’s amazing how many people here have unticked on their dog walking!

That’s good that people have stuck indoors. Here in Poland the weather is mostly miserable. Plus Poles are hypochondriacs :) and are scared of this so are following the rules strictly
