Indias government has banned exports of hydroxychloroquine as global demand surges for the malaria drug touted by US President Donald Trump as a potential Covid-19 treatment.
Exports will be limited to fulfilling existing contracts, while certain shipments on humanitarian grounds may also be allowed on a case-by-case basis, according to a statement issued Wednesday by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade.

The rush to make this cheap and decades-old medicine easily accessible led the US Food & Drug Administration to lift import restrictions on three plants of another Indian pharmaceutical company, Ipca Laboratories Ltd, on March 20.
It really seems to me, the reason there is so little discussion of this drug, is that it is so longer under patent protection.
It has been used around the world, for DECADES.
Lots, and lots, and lots of data on it’s use by millions.
But... It’s not patentable.
It’s all over Africa.
It is a WHO Essential Medicine. It costs like 10 cents a dose.

Obviously no one thinks this drug will help. /s
Don't have a hissyfit India, we invented it, I'm sure we can make it here.
By itself no patent. In combination with z-pac another story. Question is if the patent application was filed before the first story about the combination was published.
Ban the import of Indian guest workers as a response.
And that my FRiend is why the Deep State docs and politicians are dragging their feet in getting this widely distributed.
I just heard CNN cover Hydroxychloroquine.
It was just for a brief couple moments, and they then mentioned other drugs are also being researched.
Then they changed the subject, but they mentioned it.
(CNN is the only news source here, on TV)
But they did finally mention it. :)
I would do the same if I were in charge in India. Supposedly we are receiving millions of doses from Israel and another country. That should be enough to cover the first wave. Then we will theoretically receive plenty from the facility in West Virginia. Maybe there’s no problem here. I am ready to be corrected if I am wrong.
I think we will be ok.
Everyone understands America will be rebuilding our sources. In America, and around the world.
Someone will undoubtedly end up a new source for us, because of this. This is sort of a permanent, forever contract, so someone will step up for this.
And we also need a source, in America.
For everything.
No more selling out!
Btw, Vietnam makes hydroxychloroquine.
:)
“Btw, Vietnam makes hydroxychloroquine.”

Good.
Below is the medical protocol which helps human bodies ward off the worst effects of this flu virus, and helps people recover.
The out-patient treatment protocol developed by Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, of Monroe, NY, being as follows:
1) Hydroxychloroquine 200mg 2x/d 5 days,
2) Azithromycin 500mg 1/x 5days, and
3) Zinc Sulfate 220mg/d 5 days,
is inexpensive and generally well tolerated.
They are the old malaria drug, an antibiotic, and a mineral our body needs to function. It is keeping people out of hospital, and not needing ventilators.
This simple and inexpensive protocol, which is supported by the president - is being first laughed at, then scorned, and now the attempts by those whose god is money, to be withheld from those ill.
Forgive me for having over-posted this information yesterday. Let those whom I annoyed by doing so forgive me.
The information is so important. Please let this information be given to every patient and their family, doctor and politician in the land.
Well, most of the politicians.
