Atlanta hospitals overwhelmed by coronavirus patients
CBS News ^ | Mar 25,2020

At Atlanta's Grady Hospital, all 100 beds in the intensive care unit were full. Then COVID-19 hit. Viral patients are now quarantined wherever the hospital finds space.

"The stress is not just capacity," Chief Medical Officer Dr. Robert Jansen told CBS News. "It's not just stress of supplies, but on the individuals taking care of the patients. Because so much is not known."

At all of Atlanta's four major hospitals, every ICU bed is taken.

"Just kinda deteriorated," said Justin Anthony, whose cousin is in one of those hospitals. "By Sunday, the fever had not broken and she started coughing.

His cousin, Emma, is 12, one of Georgia's youngest coronavirus patients. Emma's hooked to a ventilator at Atlanta's Children Hospital.

In Alabama, a newborn baby girl is in isolation after her nurse tested positive for COVID-19.

Back in Georgia, at one rural hospital, 12 COVID-19 patients have died. That's more than in thirty-eight states. The hospital is overwhelmed.

"They've asked for help, but we can't give it," Jansen said.

Oh I got a dandy of a reply that really confirmed the level of kook I figured some of these people are.

Makes we think that the American right needs to seriously start distancing ourselves from our own homegrown loony toons much more than we do.

And of that 10x increase, just as many are asymptomatic, or minor symptoms not requiring hospitalizations. This hospital is at 90%+ capacity every day...

Glad, VERY glad, to hear your in-person observations! I genuinely hope this COVID thing isn’t that bad after all.

“THIS ARTICLE IS COMPLETE BULLSHIT. As are you.”

Considering the track record of the FluBros on this virus, you better hope you don’t need a hospital.

I’m on your side. Beside this virus there’s a weird desire to bring on the Apocalypse going around.. A lot of emotional investment. I have a few theories. Going to be lots of discussion down the road.

Tell ya what’s absolutely true; a pre-trump republican president would be getting utterly a$$-rammed in the MSM right now. he would have long since caved in, and done god only knows what.

gotta be proud to have a president with DJT’s spine these days.

“There isn’t an out of hand medical crisis in Atlanta. When you factor in the metro area, there are still plenty of facilities. I’ve been all over the burbs and the hospitals are nowhere close to full.

Grady is inner city and always full of indigents that’s who they always serve.

No one is being left to die in hospital hallways.

I’m so friggin sick of this bullshit narrative”

I am with you. Please see post #69 I just posted from Atlanta.

Did you read the article? “”Suspected”...not confirmed Coronavirus. There happens to be a flu outbreak in the area as well.

Good point. GWB caved with TARP (bailouts) in 2008.

“The death toll is nowhere near their wet-dream predictions.”

Sorry but I did not predict a high wet-dream predictions. Got back and look at my history.

I am thinking it was going between a 0.2 and 0.7 back in late Feb. Worst then it is just a flu of 0.1.

My thinking was base off of South Korea because we could not trust the China data. At that point South Korea was about 0.7. South Korea is at 1.43% now on BNO News. South Korea at that point had the best tracking and testing system.

My thinking the US heath care system was better then South Korea. I also figure we would have better testing system and more medical supplies. Very disappointed.

My values have climb as I saw the US mess up on the testing. I am very surprise about Atlanta and New York City. I always believe Atlanta had the best hospitals. Very disappointed.

Now I am thinking 0.7 to 1.5% (non exaggerated doom and gloom prediction), that is worst then a flu but not the crazy the WHO 3.5% (the wet dream predictions you claim people made here).

It will slow down...when it runs its course like all flus/ viruses do. Now let’s get back to work where we can and let this economy rip.

“Go easy on the seasonal flu boyz, reality is going to hit them like a ton of bricks.”

I think it’s a combination of stock market losses and their figuring that it’s some kind of a litmus test on their Trump support. Like most here, I support Trump when he’s right, and like many here, I’m willing to point out mistakes. For example, Trump’s goal of figuring out a way to legalize the DACA kids/adults is something I don’t support him on.

Just a flu, bro.

Stupid comment; Grady Hospital's ICU beds were full before Covid-19 came; it is a overwhelmed, overworked, struggling hospital for the poor of Atlanta; has nothing to do with a flu or the Covid-19 virus, which makes Grady's job so much worse.

““All in all, what I am seeing in the news is not what I am seeing working around Atlanta.”

100% accurate and my personal experience here too.”

Thank you! Let’s just all keep on working until our own eyes tell us otherwise.

Shoot, that was somewhat poetic :-)

And that has what to do with the current COVID hype and Trump’s desire to open up areas to normal activity where it’s warranted?

TARP actually made money for the federal government. I know, I know. it’s taboo around here to say anything about GWB that isn’t insanely negative. but that’s an artifact of history.

This is an actual post one of them made yesterday:

"We need bodies collapsing on the street in our cities caught on camera—over and over and over and over again. _Then_ the FluBros will get it."

He literally said "WE NEED"! That is how F'ed in he head these nutjobs have become! Mind you, these are the same people that supposedly have a problem with abortion.
