Atlanta hospitals overwhelmed by coronavirus patients
CBS News ^ | Mar 25,2020

At Atlanta's Grady Hospital, all 100 beds in the intensive care unit were full. Then COVID-19 hit. Viral patients are now quarantined wherever the hospital finds space.

"The stress is not just capacity," Chief Medical Officer Dr. Robert Jansen told CBS News. "It's not just stress of supplies, but on the individuals taking care of the patients. Because so much is not known."

At all of Atlanta's four major hospitals, every ICU bed is taken.

"Just kinda deteriorated," said Justin Anthony, whose cousin is in one of those hospitals. "By Sunday, the fever had not broken and she started coughing.

His cousin, Emma, is 12, one of Georgia's youngest coronavirus patients. Emma's hooked to a ventilator at Atlanta's Children Hospital.

In Alabama, a newborn baby girl is in isolation after her nurse tested positive for COVID-19.

Back in Georgia, at one rural hospital, 12 COVID-19 patients have died. That's more than in thirty-eight states. The hospital is overwhelmed.

"They've asked for help, but we can't give it," Jansen said.

"I’m sure appearances are deceiving, but it almost appears as though people are actually rooting for the virus."

“Just a flu, bro.” is their shorthand for "I hope it kills a lot of people so I can go on FR and crow".

I can’t believe there are only four hospitals in metro Atlanta.

Bullshit. You just jump on every negative news article and celebrate it. I can tell you this Atlanta storynis an exaggeration. Remember when FR didn’t take every news story as gospel?

You have an agenda and you’re a ghoul and a douche.

Dumb article. Doesn’t give any numbers and how many are non-corona patients.

It’s true, and I know this because my son’s crew was involved setting up makeshift isolation rooms in one of the hospitals.

My city is nowhere near as large as Atlanta and we have 4 hospitals. Google maps seems to show a lot more for them.

Sadly, they’re not deceiving. The Wu Flu hobbyists and pumpers have been seeking validation for their tantrums for over a month now.

There isn’t an out of hand medical crisis in Atlanta. When you factor in the metro area, there are still plenty of facilities. I’ve been all over the burbs and the hospitals are nowhere close to full.

Grady is inner city and always full of indigents that’s who they always serve.

No one is being left to die in hospital hallways.

I’m so friggin sick of this bullshit narrative

It’s the same group of folks that were hoping for a full blown Iran war a couple of months ago.

Some people get off on war, famine, pestilence and death.

Don’t ask me why, it’s off though

Cases...do you mean test positives or the cases that actually lead to severe illness and hospitalization?

And word around GAT-lanta...

is that the repairs on the patient tower where the

water-pipe break happened

will fully-repaired by Winter of this year (2020).

My oh my, but it sure as shootin' would be fine if

the same contractors that rebuilt

in world-record-time

the I-85/ I-75 bridge that was burned down...

if only thos e same contractors could be rebuilding the GRADY Memorial Hospital patient bed tower.

“Just a flu, bro.” is their shorthand for "I hope it kills a lot of people so I can go on FR and crow".
in a nutshell. it’s deeply mystifying to me why people that I have personally seen behaving in a perfectly reasonable, rational way for years are insisting on wetting their dress over this virus.

way too many unknowns in this coronavirus universe to conclude whether it’s nothing, and certainly not enough information to think we’re all going to die tomorrow.

The death toll is nowhere near their wet-dream predictions.

They’re too stupid to see they are being led about by the same news narrative-setters that have lied to them for years.

Notice how few “positive” stories there are of this? It’s all exaggerated doom and gloom.

As of today, there are 473 people hospitalized for COVID in the state of Georgia. That doesn't seem like an impossible number to accommodate.
