The CDC has been criticized for weekslong COVID-19 testing delays, including a botched initial effort at producing a coronavirus test kit on a large scale, with the flaws only being discovered after the tests had been sent out to hundreds of labs across the country. The replacement took weeks, although the U.S. has ramped up its testing by orders of magnitude in the past week ...

I work on multimillion dollar jobs and sort of specialize in going in to failing ones and turning them around. A basic mantra I've always lived by is 'when there's a problem, focus on solving it and moving forward. Plenty of time later to figure out who to blame'

Announcing investigations into reponse (implication: poor response) right in the midst of the situation does nobody any good. People there will be looking over the shoulders, scared to make decisions. Others will be trying to take it as an opportunity to divide us all. I have to assume the IG is a damned resistance slob.

the mere fact this investigation is going on will have an adverse affect on the good work being done. This is a bad move. I suggest the Senate should investigate the entire IG structure and operation. The must be oversight of the IG.

In 2018 Trump put the HHS in charge of overseeing our defenses against natural and military biological threats. It sounds to me like the HHS is more or less doing an internal review to find way to improve in the future, which is always a good idea after something like this. It’s too bad the propaganda press won’t play it that way though.
