The Health and Human Services Department's watchdog will investigate the Trump administration's response to the coronavirus outbreak.
A spokesperson for the HHS inspector general told the Washington Examiner that investigators will carry out at least five reviews related to HHSs planning and response of the COVID-19 outbreak. The inquiries will scrutinize issues such as nationwide hospital responses, quarantine procedures, the training and protective gear provided to front-line health workers, nursing home standards amid a disease with an exponentially more deadly effect on the elderly and the already ill, and the ability to care for illegal border crossers and refugees during a public health crisis.
The HHS watchdog will also draw up recommendations for dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.
The investigative effort will be spearheaded by Christi Grimm, the principal deputy inspector general who leads HHSs watchdog office. The office compromises 1,600 auditors, investigators, lawyers overseeing dozens of programs run by agencies, including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Administration for Children and Families, the Food and Drug Administration, and the National Institutes of Health all of which have played a role in the governments response to the COVID-19 outbreak that has rattled the U.S. health system.

The CDC has been criticized for weekslong COVID-19 testing delays, including a botched initial effort at producing a coronavirus test kit on a large scale, with the flaws only being discovered after the tests had been sent out to hundreds of labs across the country. The replacement took weeks, although the U.S. has ramped up its testing by orders of magnitude in the past week ...
What do we know about Christi Grimm?? Has she given money to DEMOCRATS???
Occam’s Razor: Because of this SNAFU Trump kicked somebody’s ass. Unaccustomed to anything but fawning praise, the kickee internalized their butthurt and decided to become a “whistleblower”.
Obama was the one who used up all the masks, etc. during the swine flu event. Cuomo had the opportunity to replenish NY’s supply of needed medical equipment but spent it on other things. Why is this Trump’s fault? And how does any government stop a virus from crossing the border? What a crock.
We can argue that Democrat’s impeachment distracted Trump in the early months of the outbreak.
Are they going to ignore this: https://www.ghsindex.org/
The US response ranks number one in the world.
another lifelong bureaucrat.. she’s worked for 20 years as gubamint ‘rat... integrity of programs was her area of expertise.

Will wait for them to investigate Obamas response to the swine flu which killed over 19,000 Americans..will sit back and wait for the investigation..oh wait almost forgot, Obama was sorta black and a commie so no worries
I’m sure the same actions were taken during the Obama administration. :)
So THAT’S what they will be doing with their time and taxpayer resources in this crisis?
Uh huhhh
The HHS watchdog will also draw up recommendations for dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.

AFTER THE FACT as usual. Our bureaucratic and corrupt government never does anything proactive.
So can we point out these things.
Our pharma is made outside of the country.
Our virus labs work with China to show them how to make these virus.
The economy will crash the at the first hint of a virus next time.
Hospitals are not geared to handle epidemics.
The press scares people, ON PURPOSE.
There are virus’ that we cannot stop, because the rest of the world cannot stop them. So we need a plan to deal with a virus not stop it.
Doctors and Nurses get and spread the disease as much as anyone.
Our big cities are the most vulnerable spots in the country.
The CDC should not try to control test kits. They suck at it.
Our testing labs should be the first to get tests, not the last.
What can we do to speed up the time to make a vaccine. Surely someone can fast track a vaccine.
Oh, and the WHO? Is it really worth it? The US has no respect for the WHO now. What can be done about that?
Pretty unseemly to be announcing an investigation in the midst of one of the worst crises this country has ever faced. Does any really think this would happen in a Dem administration?
I wonder if it will cost the taxpayers more than the Mueller witchhunt?
Good point. You realize the only reason why the dems aren’t $hitting impeachment again is that there is a health crisis, don’t you? Wouldn’t go over well with the public. They’re going to wait until it’s over, and then review every word he said during those briefings, and magically “find” something to impeach him over.
While the media is expected to use a headline that looks to be an attack on Trump, an actual investigation into the preparedness and handling of the COVID19 crisis can also be viewed as further ways to drain the swamp and get these agencies where they should be, as opposed to unprepared.
It is very expensive and almost impossible to prepare for all contingencies all the time (hurricanes, tornadoes, pandemic, floods, earthquake, nuclear attack, etc). We do have to be realistic about things. Sometimes shit happens.
For the record: If obama or even Hillary Clinton had been in the White House now, you would not have known anything about what is happening now . The media would be absolutely mute.
The purpose of this is twofold: 1. The removal of President Trump from Office. 2. The destruction of the economy of the United States of America.
Look for this to last a long time and be worked, with minor modifications, many more times.
