The resurrection of America, Trump-style: The president wants everything up and running again by Easter
American Thinker ^ | 03/26/2020 | Howard J. Warner

Donald Trump plays a different game of chess. He thinks several moves ahead, as any chess master would, but he also plays multiple games simultaneously. He contends with a confrontational media, an insatiable Democratic House leadership, and ill prepared state government–managed health care facilities. Trump would be amazed should he get true bipartisan support in his effort to stem the coronavirus crisis.

Trump chose to express his desire for a return to normal. He hoped America could reopen by Easter. The media immediately rushed to condemn him. But when his tweet Sunday evening was sent out, was he trying to influence the negotiations underway in the Senate between Sec. Mnuchin and Sen. Chuck Schumer that had collapsed?

The discussions had stalled as Speaker Nancy Pelosi returned to Washington. She had put the left's wish list into the legislation at issue, ballooning the price tag to $2.5 trillion. These extraneous items were a non-starter at the White House. In the end, the Democrats have gotten Republican acceptance of some items unrelated to the health crisis. As of Wednesday, it appears that compromise has gotten substantial garbage into the Senate bill necessary to get House passage later this week. The delay tactic (of a week) scares many Republicans into bending. Each day the national economy remains closed, it decreases the likelihood of a successful recovery.

Trump indicated that Easter is a symbolic time for the economic recovery from this virus.

Beyond that, he provided a lifeline to a distressed public. Another and more important effect was to force Pelosi and her party to move more quickly to compromise with the Republicans in the Senate and the White House. The public had a ray of hope, and the citizenry did not want it destroyed by partisan selfishness. Some game of chess!

Just when Democrats think they have him squooshed up against the wall, its Trump who has them cornered. Ka-ching!

More winning!

What are the Chicken Freepers to make of this? Could devotion to
Trump overcome WuFlu hysteria? Or do they continue to feed us into the Prog machine?

We’ll know if Trump is serious about getting things up and running by Easter if he cordons off New York City and a few other “hot-spots”. No one gets out, nothing but critical supplies gets in.

Otherwise infected New Yorkers will continuously spread the virus throughout the country and we’ll maybe be looking at Easter 2021.

They keep playing with fire by attacking Trump with behind the scenes machinations. Trump ia too smart for that, and his base too solidly behind him to be tricked out of supporting him.

The only way Democrats could beat Trump is to simply be more competent than he is. Sadly there is no person in the democratic party who is competent.

If I put on my conspiracy hat, I think that the Chinese and the Democrats colluded to release the virus and bring down Trump.

But what doesn’t kill Trump makes him stronger. He’s coming out of this thing looking really good.

Democrats … not so much.

Sadly for them, good for us, I should clearly state.

There is no one among the Democrats who is capable. They have been riding a reputation buillt by ppast leadership and a fawning media. The gas is empty in both tanks.

“How dare that man offer a hope, we’re wanting this thing to go on forever...”

Nancy Pelosi’s bill really showed the hand that liberals are aiming for. Socialist utopia, we tell you where to work, when to work, and you’ll take your money from the government when we say you will. And we’ll keep this going as long as ‘just one life can be saved.’ ‘Because we won’t trade lives to save Wall St.’

Meanwhile, unsurprisingly, unpaid for benefits for government workers loom over the cities, counties and states that had investments in the stock market. Secured by the properties of those who live in those tax entities. Not even on the table for bailout, since that’s a little over a 13 trillion dollar loss from the market crash.

You have different strategies for the low virus infested areas. Containment is possible using incident reports and tracking. NYC and other hot zones will require different measures. We don’t need to cordon off the roads, airports or shutdown the subways. The more data we gather on mortality rates, those with antibodies who have already had the disease, the modalities of infection, etc. will better inform our policy decisions. We are acquiring that data every day.

I would love to believe this is true,
Trump is a master of understanding complex systems and
projecting consequences. He has shown this repeatedly.

That said, in my limited mind, I see hope only in the Lord,
and that dying in Christ is sufficient and not to be feared.
I have lived >65 years and am reminded
that the span of our days is 3 score and 10, maybe 4 score

I am however not prepared to “take one for the team”
Just because “Caesar” wills it

But am prepared (if Courage does not fail)
to walk freely into The Lord’s Arms

I trust President Trump to do what's right.

The timeline depends on the following factors:

1. Sufficient medical supplies (masks, gowns, ventilators, respirators) to meet the forecast demand.

2. Off label drugs with "sufficient success rate" and sufficient quantities. I would expect this will cause a lot of debate.

3. Phased approach, starting with low virus infested areas.

4. Availability of funds for small and medium size business.

5. Each business needs to develop a plan to minimize risk to employees, customers, and suppliers.

6. Governors will execute the plan based on guidance provided by President Trump. IMHO, Republican governors will shine...democrat governors not so much.

Many will cling to their mindless panic mentality "just because"...we are on the cusp of the "prevention" doing much more damage than the virus could have done if no drastic actions had been implemented.

Now our choice is more crippling debt or a potential full-blown depression...the debt is marginally preferable but most of it was really unnecessary except for the mindless panic and the sheeple demanding government control over everyone's lives...

I agree with your timeline. It is common sense.
