One interesting thing about the 1918 pandemic is that it hit healthy young adults the hardest.

Typically, pandemics kill the weakest. 11918 wiped out the very group that would normally be able to reproduce and revitalize the economy.

The technical reasons are a bit beyond me, it had to do with the fact that the healthier the immune system the more it overreacted.

So its effect in economic and population terms was vastly wors than anything before or since

True, it was unusual, I belong to the group who are hardest hit by the CORONAVIRUS. 6 Autommunes. I’ve always been a semi prepper where food is concerned. I’ve gone hungry to often so y 2 young sons could eat. Getting child support back then was hard, harder still if they were Military. I wasn’t staying with a man who abused my eldest, and had tried to our newborn for having Colic. My 4 yr old HS education was already obsolete. Waited tables for $1.50 a hr and lousy tips. Factory job at $3.50 was no better, Peanut Farmer era.
