The drug touted by the President was shown to have psychiatric side-effects when administered to U.S. serviceman decades ago. So some may face death by suffocation, or psychiatric ‘incidents’ for the rest of their lives.

Choose carefully, Grasshopper!

This is one of the many reasons why I am looking for a natural way for the Zinc to hitch a ride on a transporter into the cell.

or psychiatric ‘incidents’ for the rest of their lives.

The psychoactive effects mitigate over time and is one of the well-known consequences of long-term malarial prophylaxis.

I’m not sure that’s exactly the same drug. I don’t know the study you are mentioning but hydroxychloroquine was developed as a safer alternative to chloroquine which did have side effects.

HCQ is probably the most prescribed non-antibiotic drug in the world.

I used it many, many times in the military for months at a time and occasionally use it to go on safari.

While I am sure some fraction of a fraction may have weird side effects, that’s true with life.

Taking it for a few days won’t risk any adverse affects which are only seen after many years of use.

FReegards Ride!

Are you thinking of quinine?
If you might like to learn about this effective drug which is used for a number of ailments including malaria, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis, here is a link:
https://www.drugs.com/plaquenil.html

It is a prescription medication of course.
There are side effects and contraindications.
Other brands are Aralen, and Quineprox.
Generic names are chloroquine and hydroxy-chloroquine.

I'll take the chance of "incidents" over death any day.

Since you're so knowledgeable, what was the PERCENTAGE of soldiers taking it who had problems.

FYI, my wife has been on hydroxychloroquine for decades with no side effects. Just sayin’.
