Maybe you’ve answered your own question by demonstrating that the viral outbreak was never going to be terribly serious after all.

Exactly! Where does he get the idea that it would be communist for everyone to be privy to pertinent information at the same time?

Yes; in the private sector, top people in companies are forbidden from trading within certain windows due to the unfair advantage they have over other investors.

I believe we are the only country to penalize insider trading.

However it should be for private citizens, politicians should be held to a higher standard so that they can retain public trust.

I know that sentence may sound ridiculous, but think how it would be if politicians were routinely using confidential information to enrich themselves.

I’m not sure I’d want to live in a country run by people who are completely disconnected from private industry.

You are correct. They did not perform due diligence and they profited from the insider information.

I will add that there is indication of transmission through fecal material. Sanitation in both China, Iran, and South Korea away from the big cities is reported to be inferior to that in most areas in Western nations. There was early hope that transmission in the West would be somewhat slower. It will take a couple of years to get reliable data sets to test those hypotheses.

This author is a complete moron and, other than Schlicter, shows why Townhall isn’t any better than Fox, National Review, Kristol or any of the rest that fall into that category. Author is complicating what is a rather simple premise....someone is profiting from information that is not otherwise knows. Ergo, they can make their money before anyone else gets a chance, thus tossing capitalism and competition into the wind. They and their chosen friends can take advantage and rig the market. Pure and simple.

The meeting that Burr, Feinstein, Loefler and the rest went to was “Top Secret”, if I’m not mistaken. Meaning that the info passed in it was not for public disclosure and was/could be a national security issue. They then used that information to profit from it.

Kind of like the folks at your local zoning board tipping off their buddies that Walmart or Home Depot wants to buy a chunk of real estate and all their buddies start buying up houses, where the proposed location is going to go, for pennies on the dollar. They then sell everything to HD for an incredible profit. Good work if you can get it.

Washington is no longer about lawmaking, it’s about moneymaking for the elites!

The Democrats have understood this for decades. Look how rich Bernie, Pelosi, Biden, the Clintoons, Kerry, Obama, and Feinstein became while in congress or the Executive Branch..
