It does, however, illustrate just how badly betrayed the US has been by its elected leadership over the past 50 years that we didn’t keep war stocks of the stuff around. It’s not like we haven’t found ourselves in wars in places where we could really use it.
We probably have a stockpile, but it’s likely been expired for a decade or more. The military always does this. You go somewhere where malaria is present and they hand out chloroquine from the 90’s. Chemical threat? Here’s atropine and 2-PAM chloride from the cold war.
It likely has a shelf life. You could stockpile it, and would need to manage the inventory, replacing old with new. I don’t see how anyone could have anticipated that all of a sudden there would be an enormous demand for it.
It’s as though nobody even considered the danger to national security. They all just sold us out for their own benefit.
We need to start another “buy American” campaign. At worse a “buy non-Chinese”. The CCP are an enemy to the planet. It’s time we all take that seriously.
This is the legacy of the globalists that made a fortune selling us out for the last 30 years.
Almost across the board, our level of.
Preparedness and vigilance has been slowly eroded.
