Society is on lock-down and on the brink of being under martial law, and citizens are beginning to panic over scarcity as grocery store shelves remain empty.
Meanwhile, the sheriff in town is releasing criminals and reducing arrests, all while telling citizens not to do anything to protect themselves.
If this sounds like the plot of a Joker reboot, youll be shocked to learn that its literally the strategy of Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva.

Like so many Los Angeles politicos, is he a La Raza adherent? Just asking for a friend.
So if society starts to break down, and citizens start to loot home for toilet paper, it would be better if we were unarmed? No thanks sheriff.
I shall defend my toilet paper with my life.
The same guy who immediately refused to cooperate with ICE the split second he was elected.
But he was in the military as a career so he’s a real assimilated American, right?
Invasion = OK
Second Amendment to the Constitution = Not OK
Yup. Real American.
Maybe a few hundred people should test her theory by dropping by her home.

Forget, Jake, it’s LA.
If a bad guy comes to HIS house you know he has a gun!
I came to the conclusion a few years ago that the only logical response to this progressive BS is to just say FU.
Anyone who truly thinks that you can reason with these people is delusional. So delusional that they should be given absolutely NO responsibility for anything.
“...progressive BS is to just say FU.” Or, FAH Q. :-)
Ca sheriff.. of course
Prison is the perfect “shelter in place”
It appears she's a man, loosely speaking.
One of those "All Animals are Equal but Some stupid Swine are more Equal than Others" type-gunslingers.
Yup
FUAV
He is most likely right in this case. If someone has waited this long to purchase and learn the basics they are to far behind the power curve to do anything but blow their big tow off after the second twirl session while watching Gunsmoke reruns.
yeah, I’m going to have to build up my collection again. Too many of these progressive assholes think they can just shut things down and everything will be hunky dory.
Sorry, sheriff but once you realize that the people coming for you are law-abiding citizens - game over.
Does the Sheriff still carry a gun? I thought so.
I was just at a grocery store in Fayetteville Arkansas and that grocery store still had stocked shelves.
Only the toilet paper, wiping towels and hand sanitizer appeared to have a shortage. There were limits to purchase posted. Canned goods were plentiful as were produce and frozen goods along with fresh meats.
went to another store in a different town and the same applied. Limits on toilet paper purchases and hand sanitizer.
>If someone has waited this long to purchase and learn the basics they are to far behind the power curve to do anything but blow their big tow off
Why are you making the Bloomberg “people are too incompetent to own firearms” argument?
Anyone can learn the rules of safety from their LGS while they’re trying to decide what to buy. Secondly, modern pistols are simpler than the average coffee machine to operate correctly (kinda unlike enthusiasts’ DA/SA or SAO
arms). Lastly, at self-defense ranges, just “point and click” will suffice.
This experts-only BS is exactly the wool the antis want to pull over everyone’s eyes. After all, if it’s dangerous and tricky, only a few professionals (by which they mean not us!) need have firearms.
Not that it matters; all the people who rushed in recently to buy in CA are on a waiting list and now can’t leave their homes to complete the purchase. As the libs screech, rights delayed are rights denied.
