Had an odd thought last night about corporate post-911 strategies, and wondered if Hilton/Marriott etc are interrupting the supply farther up the chain.

When I go to a business banquet, the fruit displays are from fruit of quality I will never find in my local grocery store or local fruit/veg distributor....

I really don’t understand the hoarding of tp. Funny thing is I still see plenty of disposable gloves out there which I think is a heck of lot more of a needed item. I wish they would hurry up and get more supplies of hand sanitizer out in stores. Everyone should have a little bottle they can carry with them when they have to go out.

$60 a CASE isn’t price gouging. One 12 Pack of “premium” Toilet Paper can cost $8.00 at the Grocery Store.

The CASE the guy is selling probably contains four 12 Packs.

He owns it, he can ask whatever the hell he wants for it. Toilet Paper is not a Life Saving Product. How ridiculous.

I guess I can go on Ebay and tell those guys selling the new 2020 Corvette to sell it to me at MSRP or I’ll report them to the Authorities.

Should have made tissue paper roses and sold them.

>>Wonder how the market is for old corn cobs and Sears catalogs??

If the TP shortage lasts long enough, people might actually resort to subscribing to “news”papers again.

That’s a deal, they are selling it on ebay for $72.99. Need to do some comparison shopping here.

Everything has a price, offered by a seller, and contemplated by a buyer.

Sometimes they match up, sometimes they don’t. Sale or no sale.

Isn’t it stunning that people can steal, mug, break in your home and a lot of other crimes and not be charged, but trying to make a buck is the top criminal activity.

I think in some ways these guys are scumbags but they should have the right to be jerks.

True - it may be immoral and unethical, but if folks are stupid enough to pay for it, more power to them.

Saw a pic on Facebook where a guy had a double garage packed with TP - wall-to-wall and at least as high as the top of the door....hope some of these asshats end up with 5 lifetimes of supplies when things straighten out.

Kind of funny, though, that the folks that have no problem with usury laws, anti-scalping, laws and anti-monopoly laws have problems with potential for such pirates to conduct their own dirty business...

Here's hoping that if rioting and looting occurs, some of the victims are those who are known to have amassed such hoards in hopes of getting rich off the backs of folks who are hurting.

It shouldn’t be a big deal.

Prices moderate behavior. Its a universal market signal.

Everyone knows you can only sell TP in the dead of night in some back alley in a flea-bitten part of town

Wondering what a similar 48-pak of Charmin would cost, and how outrageous the markup really was.

I bought an 18-pack of Charmin megas a couple of months ago and IIRC it was around $24.

"absorbently priced" - now that's funny right there...

I checked a lot of stores looking for a couple extra boxes of Kleenex...the local Rouses actually had some along with some TP and paper towels.

The only thing I haven't been able to find is some spray Lysol - don't really consider it necessary but the wife would feel better if we had a can.

A while back, she bought 3 plastic "cans" of wipes so we each keep on in our cars and have a spare "just in case" they aren't available for one of the grocery stops....but while at home, soap is the most effective way to clean our hands....and that's readily available even if "hand sanitizer" isn't available.

I started using Dr. Teal's Body Wash as my hand soap - lasts a long time for that use, smells good and has Epsom Salts which have anti-bacterial qualities due to the Sulfur content...
