Even more.
Sick people are being told they will not be tested for WARS.
No referral.
In the old days the patient could say, “who’s paying your salary, Doc, give me the test.”
All the Progressive a-holes are coming out of the woodwork now to tell us that the CoVid-19 crisis proves we need to have “Medicare-For-All”.
Meanwhile Great Britain is about to have a bloodbath because their revered “National Health Service” has almost no intensive care beds or other resources on hand. I’m not sure how well the NHS standard 6-month wait for care is going to work for the U.K.’s critical Corona virus patients.
“She later received a bill for about $700 because the hospital had not checked whether her deductible had been met.”
That is not the hospital’s job. For one thing it is very possible they would not get the right information depending on what day they checked and who they spoke with. She would be the only one who would know based on EOB received what had previously been paid out and whether the deductible had been met.
I agree that the bill is rather high but she probably needed those two Tylenol.
Has anyone researched how requiring a so called “certificate of need” before the construction of hospitals has contributed to the shortage of critical care beds?
