An Open Data Clinical Trial for COVID-19 Prevention
________
BREAKING UPDATE: Clinical trial by Gautret, Raoult, et al. (2020)
What is this initiative?
We're an independent group of scientists and physicians working on an open-data clinical trial for prevention of COVID-19, through the use of hydroxychloroquine in combination with other therapeutic agents.
Unlike a typical commercial drug trial, our objective is to share trial data with the public* and health-care professionals as close to real-time as possible (with a reasonable level of data quality assurance).
Given the rapidly spreading coronavirus pandemic, we're looking for every possible means to fast-track the effort.
_______________
How can I participate in the trial?
Objective: Evaluate the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine in the prevention of COVID-19 infection.
Current Phase: We're first focusing on a cohort study of healthy medical professionals.
Status: Active / Recruiting
Join the study: If you're a front-line healthcare worker (physician, nurse, etc.), and willing to participate in the trial (or already taking hydroxychloroquine), please send us an email.
Future phase: Case-control study of hydroxychloroquine in the prevention of COVID-19. Stay tuned.

1600 mg quercetin (with bromelain that increases absorption) and zinc gluconate 50 mg. daily. Nobody knows what an adequate dose is, but as a preventive supplement this seems to be a good starting point.
Any side effects?
I’m taking heart meds and have a pacemaker and some afib.
I also have afiib and a pacemaker and am on Eliquis. There is a risk of augmented anticoagulant effect, but at this dosage hopefully the risk is small.

Seems like that would go hand in hand with eliquis, or perhaps call for a lower eliquis doseage.
Yes, you are correct.
Mine would be: POPULATION CONTROL.
........I wonder if it works for this condition.
(The video is five years old but it’s great.)

Yoi! Very interesting.
I firmly believe, the crisis is over now.
The media is still hair on fire, but I firmly believe the crisis is now over.
Now. Already.

Are you being facetious? Or are you serious?
Truly, I hope that you are being serious.
____________
I agree.
Pings would be appreciated on this subject!

"As described by Melinda Liu in Smithsonian Magazine, the Chinese wet markets, often poorly ventilated, with multiple species jammed together -- create ideal conditions for spreading disease through shared water utensils or airborne droplets of blood and other secretions.

This 2017 article was titled: Is China Ground Zero for a Future Pandemic?
*****
When the pandemic arrived, at least the World Health Organization leapt to action. First step: Find a cure? Develop a vaccine? Demand protections for the elderly?
NO!
WHO officials got together and worked on coming up with a new name for the Wuhan virus that sounded less Asian.
Next, the WHO put out a Fact Sheet to ensure that those with Kung Flu would not be stigmatized. It instructed:
"DO -- talk about people 'acquiring' or 'contracting' #COVID-19.
DON'T -- talk about people 'transmitting COVID-19,' 'infecting others' or spreading the virus' as it implies intentional transmission & assigns blame.
As fear of the Chinese virus spread, Gloria Allred brought a lawsuit against a Los Angeles school for sending an Asian student to the school nurse after he coughed in class.
Americans are cowering in their homes. Airlines, restaurants, beaches, ski resorts, professional sports, colleges and stores have been shut down. But we must never violate the fundamental civil right of an Asian to cough in class and refuse to see the nurse!
The New York Times has also been on the racism beat, with these pressing stories:
As Chinese Grapple With a New Illness, an Old Stigma Is Revived
An Outbreak of Racist Sentiment as Coronavirus Reaches Australia
As Coronavirus Spreads, So Does Anti-Chinese Sentiment"
I was totally being serious.
The thing is, since yesterday evening here (about 8 hours ago), I have not really sensed a turnaround in the media message.
But I myself anyway, feel a whole huge amount better than I felt yesterday at this time.
Trump actually mentioned the research yesterday evening.
It doesn’t seem exactly like a flat out cure, but then again, it does seem like those treated with the drug, seem to have gotten better in one week.
I am greatly feeling more hopeful today, than I was yesterday.
