I have posted the video of this mornings daily White House press briefing below. One reporter poses a single question about the Wall Street Journal report concerning Trumps efforts to overcome regulatory hurdles to therapies (at 43:00). President Trump stated that he hadnt seen the Journal article but that we are making a lot of progress therapeutically. There was no follow-up question on the subject of possible therapies or regulatory relief. (The current version of the Journal story adds that there w[ill] be a news conference Thursday involving the FDA.)
Two reporters raise hostile questions on the propriety of attributing the Wuhan virus to China. Adopting the Chinese Communist propaganda line, they imply or state that calling the virus Chinese is racist.
In a subsequent question Reuters correspondent Jeff Mason picks up the theme peddled most prominently by the Washington Posts Robert Costa. As posed by Mason, the question is a two-fer. It both slams Trump for earlier minimizing the threat of the Wuhan virus and it disparages conservatives for believing Trump. Well done, Jeff.
Taken together, the reporters questions reveal mind-numbing ignorance and mediocrity. If these reporters were capable of introspection and self-criticism, they might set off an epidemic of embarrassment and shame.

Properly named disease.
Come and get me.Why isnt Jim Acosta at these briefings?
I dont miss him a bit, but he used to dominate all White House briefings. What happened to him?
FDA approving widespread testing of drugs like chloroquine?
Change my kind
Please explain. With my limited intellect, I was unable to understand what you meant.

Give me a link to a published article that lists people cured and non transmissive by this method and how many affectively used it as a prophylactic. If its a reasonable number Ill look into it more.
we were totally outraged while watching those bullshit questions today ...
from now on, when President Trump gets asked questions like that, he should respond:
Our country is in a national emergency condition right now, and questions like that are a waste of time and are in no way helpful to the American people ... from now on, I will answer only questions that contribute to informing the American public how they should best deal with this situation, and anyone who asks me an irrelevant question will not be called upon again during the next week.
No problem with Wuhan Flu in 1997.
The Chinese government is engaging in several public relations campaigns right now.
One is the lie that the Wuhan flu / coronavirus is REALLY an American bioweapon used on China.
The other is a simpler demonization of America. Never mind COVID19, SARS, bird flu and swine flu coming out of China every couple of years - you’re evil racists for associating yet another plague with us. You, you’re the bad ones, you’re the meanies, shut up and do what we want.
They can build off the World Health Organization and other liberal group’s misplaced compassion - the mistaken belief that looking good equals doing good. Hence the WHO saying in 2015 not to name diseases for their place of origin, it magically oppresses the people there. As if hectoring people for using Wuhan flu or Zika virus actually does anything to help the infected.
