President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that the U.S. will close all non-essential traffic across the Northern border amid the Coronavirus pandemic. Further, Trump assured the public on Twitter that trade will not be affected.
On Tuesday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the closure of his countrys borders to non-citizens with the exception of the U.S. The border with the U.S. was to remain open with the level of integration of our two economies, Trudeau said during his press conference.
The Trump administration will provide further details on the matter and SaraACarter.com will update our readers.
If they dont keep the border open for commerce, the rest of our Canadian economy will die and our grocery stores will be empty. Almost all of our fresh fruit and vegetables come from the US or parts south this time of year, as well as a considerable portion of our canned and boxed food.
What happens to those citizens visiting the other country? My BIL and his wife were in Canada about a month ago attending the funeral of a family member of his wife’s. Would they be stuck there if they were still in Canada?
This will accelerate the use of Self-Driving Semis.......................
Sounds like trade will be mostly unaffected. They’re trying to limit movement of people.
Wrong border. Close the other border before the Chicom virus hits Tacoland and a welfugee mudslide starts flowing north.
That’ll show those Canadian’s, eh?
No, citizens can always return home. Better to be in Canada than overseas when you need to return home.

Trump made it pretty clear that the border would remain open for economic commerce. Not for daytrips to the Windsor Ballet.
How about the Mexican border?!
Hey FedGuv,a new caravan is on the way from down SOUTH!
I wonder what the policy is for residents of the the populated US exclaves (Alaska, Point Roberts, Washington, and the Northwest Angle, Minnesota do not have a land connection to the rest of the US) is going to be?
The same for the Vermont/Quebec communities where the border cuts through multiple buildings...
