WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump has clinched the Republican Party nomination, surpassing the necessary delegate threshold.
Trump, who had only token opposition, now has more than the 1,276 delegates needed after winning Tuesday’s Florida and Illinois primaries, according to The Associated Press’ delegate count.
That makes Trump the undisputed Republican nominee as Democrats continue to wage a contested primary contest between former Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
This is the earliest the delegate calendar permits a Republican to clinch the nomination.

The Lord hears the fervent prayers of His people. When President brings the country through this turmoil, he will be reelected in a landslide, and the Democrats will have only themselves to blame.

I don’t know what will happen but as far I see it, these dailys are like two hour ads for Trump. Just screams leadership even if the economy isn’t where it was a few weeks ago. I also think the economy will come back strong. I almost feel like by the end of this, if Trump keeps up what he’s been doing, he’ll be in the high 50s for approval.

When he dropped out of the race:

In late Feb. Walsh wrote a piece
for Washington Post entitled
“Joe Walsh: I’m no fan of Bernie Sanders. But #NeverTrump means never Trump.” Sanders had jumped to
an early lead.
Actually he said on twitter yesterday that he voted for Biden.
“Bring it on 2020. I’ve pledged to work my ass off for the Democratic nominee. That looks to be Joe Biden. I am going to go into the battleground states & encourage disaffected Republicans to be brave enough to come out and vote for Biden. Trump must lose. It’s time to #BeBrave.”
And
“Just did it. I just voted in the Democratic Primary for the very 1st time. I voted for Joe Biden. First time I’ve ever voted for a Democrat for President. You see, Donald Trump is a horrible human being. He must be defeated. We all gotta #BeBrave this year to get it done.”
He had supported Trump in 2016.
