Low-level offenses that dont jeopardize public safety will not be prosecuted in Brooklyn amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said Tuesday.
The measure is part of an effort for his office to implement social distancing practices in order to limit potential exposure to the virus for employees and visitors, Gonzales said.
During this public health emergency, it is imperative that we also protect those who might be exposed to the coronavirus during the procedures of arrest, processing and detention in Central Booking, he said in a statement posted to Twitter.

Looting would be the least of it. Full on violence. Rapes, robberies, murder, riots and you name it. Humans are the most dangerous animal and many have no common sense or civility.
They let murderers go without bail- but they will arrest and hold coronavirus ‘offenders’?
“Low level” crimes:
shoplifting, looting, flash mobs and the knockout “game” that targets old Whiteys.
I read the headline and all I can think is “Gentlemen, start your engines!”
